I've used the Martin M140s exclusively for a long time. I need a thicker gauge to facilitate tuning down without losing any boom on my Martin DCPA4. These strings work perfectly. They make my Martin sound like a Martin! Forget about highs, lows and mids, these strings bring out the best sound in a guitar, and that's most important! I will use these on any down-tuned guitars.
