Right out of the box this guitar came set up and ready to play. No sharp frets. Quickly tuned up and plugged into a PA… very crisp sound on par with much more expensive guitars. Unplugged this guitar DOES NOT disappoint at all. It has a nice rounded, even tone. The Fishman electronics also have a built in tuner. I love not having bridge pins… just a cool touch. It’s easy to play and if it ever disappears, I will buy another one. My other acoustics are a Martin D-28 and 0007. This cheap guitar really doesn’t feel cheap nor does it sound cheap.

I was reluctant to buy this Michael Kelly. I like to try it before I buy it . With that being said , The guitar come it flawless. It was packaged very good . I played for about an hour after opening the box. The action is spot on. It plays and feels more like an electric guitar. Hammer on pull offs pitch bends are perfect. The sustain goes on forever. The neck feels a touch wider than my Martin, but that's a good thing for me. There are no fret buzzes at. It's vert light and comfortable , light weight is a must , I have had shoulder surgery 3 times. The balance and weight are near perfect . Michael Kelly may not have the prestige of Martin. Gibson and such , but as far as the sound and quality build , it simply can not be beat in this price range.

Musical Background:

I've been playing guitar and bass 40 years

Musical Style:

I play a little bit of everything from rock to gospel The Michael Kelly covers a wide range of acoustic music

I bought this for my daughter as she has taken over my acoustic. The sound Is akin to a child's guitar you would spend $15 on at Walmart. Very twangy and plastic sounding at the same time. The action is not terrible. The tuner is off a little and hard to use. Definitely more geared for the absolute beginner and not a intermediate or advanced player who can hear quality.
