I switched from an LR Baggs to this pickup and have had nothing but compliments from audiences and other musicians in am old beat up J45 rosewood Gibby. I started playing piano in 63 and guitar in 64. My 1st pro gig under age at 15 was in a bar in Richmond Kentucky. My dad played bluegrass at Renfro Valley near Mt. Vernon Kentucky

I ordered on Thursday or Friday, with a Monday expected delivery.....got pushed to Thursday (today as I am writing). I put on guitar, plugged in and liked what I heard, until I noticed a faint clipping, distortion kinda of sound, accompanied by a scratchy sound, like a dirty pot on an amp. Anyway, did troubleshooting including several guitars, different amps, etc. Sound still present, primarily when plucking an open G or D. I called zZounds customer service to be informed that they couldnt do anything, and for me to contact the manufacturer. Regardless of what transpires with manufacturer, A) how is one aupposed to knowbif they like something without actually using it? and B) it's a soundhole pickup! I'm not manipulating the device. Certainly no more than playing a guitar for 45 days, then returning it!I think the product will be an A plus, but I must say I am disillusioned about the policy of no returns on sound hole pickups! For goodness sakes, they are non-permanent by definition. My brain hurts trying to understand a policy which makes no sense.Anyway, I've probably spent close to $10k in last 2 or 3 years with zZounds.....have only returned 1 item and it was their fault (wrong size case). I feel like I'm being punished for being a good customer. Anyway, if you order a soundhole pickup, it's yours to deal with, even if it was faulty upon delivery.I do think the product will be great, if I get a working one. And who knows what will happen once I ship my unit to God knows where with no way to know if I will ever be whole on this transaction......I guess at the end of the day it's about having faith that somebody will stand behind the products they sell or produce.....here's to hoping!
