This instrument plays well, sounds terrific and looks like a custom made instrument. When I purchased it, I was a bit skeptical. I'd never heard of the brand before. I had been researching several other brands. Cordoba had been on my radar for quite some time. Two of my friends own them. I decided to be different and ventured to buy the Merida. I opened the box and the guitar was so well packaged I was already impressed. I brought it to my buddy's house and compared the sound to his guitar. We both looked at each other in amazement. The Merida sounded so much better, it wasn't close. It's also a lot lighter. We'll have to see if out stays together! The instrument looks like it's been made really well, so I'm feeling pretty good it'll stand the test of time!

I just saw this company's guitars at the Nashville Summer NAMM show in Nashville, TN. They had a relatively small booth, perhaps not as fancy as some others that were there. Apparently, they spend more time on building great guitars than on building great NAMM displays! These guitars were absolutely incredible. The build quality, sound quality and attention to detail are easily seen and heard. There was a swarm of people around their setup, so naturally, I was curious what all the attention was about. I thought perhaps there was a "star sighting" or something. To my surprise, it was about a dozen classical guitars that had attracted the attention of some very serious Nashville players. I did finally "wriggle" my way into the small crowd and was able to get my hands on a T25 cutaway with Fishman electronics. Immediately I knew what all the excitement this company had created was all about! These are VERY special instruments. The body resonated so well I could feel it vibrating against my chest and rib cage. The noise in the hall made it a bit difficult to really hear nuance, but the feel was spot on as well. I'll be making a purchase this weekend as soon as I get paid! I immediately "googled" Merida Guitars and zZounds came up as a dealer. Funny I had never heard of this company before, but apparently I've been in the dark!
