"Well built shells"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
The shells are well built, solid. The tom tom holder has an issue. The base of the tom mount that is installed on the kick has a plastic piece inserted in it. It rattles like hell when you strike either of the toms . It took me 2 hours to find out where it was coming from. I checked all the screws, everything on all drums. With a rubber mallet I lightly tapped the base of the holder on the kick, and there it was. It all came down to this round plastic piece that has a lot of play in it. It was cracked as well from factory install. I am waiting on mapex for the part. If it still rattles I will have to wrap tape around it so it stops the rattle. Bad design, good sounding drums.
Sound
Good, change the heads to 2 ply.
Features
Good for Rock and contemporary music
Ease of Use
Hands down, you can use this kit on gigs. Change the heads, use moon gels and it sounds like a maple kit. The heads are everything.
Quality
Hardware is average, Handle with care. Use The kick pedal to practice only.
Value
It should sell in the 500.00 range, not over 600.00
Manufacturer Support
Still communicating with them on getting a part.
