"New Speakers"

It was time to upgrade my speakers and I was almost ready to go with another brand when I noticed the new Mackie offering for $100 less per speaker. With a 15 and a compression driver, they met my need for a 2 speaker system, claiming high power and good low end. With Zzounds return policy I knew it was no gamble to try these speakers "ears unheard" and sight unseen. Because of the ergonomic placement of the handles, they seem lighter to lift than others of the same weight. I use "hand-crafted" backing tracks and I needed a speaker with clarity and depth. These speakers rock on both accounts. I am using the new Behringer Inuke 3000 to run them stereo, but I could even go higher as these speakers are taking the input like a man. My vocals do not get lost in the shuffle with four to seven backing tracks, so I could not be happier. This is a great sounding product with lots of bang for the buck, and a warmth of tone which will endear the performer to his or her audience. Just be sure to input lots of power, 400-600 watts @ 8ohms, to allow these speakers to open up. For the small price, 299+, Mackie really steps up their game. You can get a truly pro result from this product.

"Better to use only for small home use"

Worked fine in the home for rehearsing. The moment we used it for a small gig 50 people it blew out within 1 hour. Not reliable. Better to get a pair of yamaha or jbl speakers
