I was a studio and touring drummer as a kid. Loved the higher end maple sets (DW, Yamaha, etc). Fast forward 20 years and I have found a nice little opportunity to play local festivals etc...so I needed a kit, nothing special and a decent cymbal pack. Bought this 6 pcs Sparkle blue w/hardware, and added the B8x super pack to round it out. I thought I knew what to expect on both, man, I was about to be shocked..kit was packaged great, no dings or scratches, and looked real nice outta the box. The top heads are Remo PS, nice little upgrade, not pro but they sound great right away. Bottom heads need to be replaced soon but no complaints. The kick rear head also had the remo flange, nice bonus. Hardware was semi-pro and wasn't wonky, YOU know what I mean. Sound was much warmer and punchier than expected. Snare was sharp but thick. Toms allow for major range and poplar has a tone I always loved. You can get that 18 low and that 10 a sound copeland would smile at.also non-intrusive tom racks are a must, checked that box too...I would highly recommend this set for any drummer who wants to play some live shows and sound like a pro even if you aren't one. The wrap even impressed.

To make it short I opened the box and inspected every piece……everything was perfect and it was packed well…if you are a beginner and have the funds you won’t find a better set or better people to buy it from……if you are a pro you got what you paid for……this set is solid with solid hardware……as with any set of drums you will replace the heads at some point….you won’t need to for awhile on these so you saved some money…..the gold sparkle is classy and the chrome hardware compliments it….buy some cast cymbals and buy them once…..don’t buy a cheap set because you will regret it
