Many years
Sound
I play in the Praise and Worship team at church. I wasn't able to get the volume I needed on my mandolin and was ready to look for another one with a volume control on it. Another member let me try his preamp and WOW what a difference. I came home and ordered mine that day and it was here by wednesday. I've been using it now for about a month and couldn't be happier. The sound is great! The tone is rich. And the volume control is super. And it is so easy to use, even I can do it.
I even use it on my 12 string Taylor ( which already has a great amplification system built in) and it really enhances the tone and quality.
Quality
I like the ruggedness of the metal case. It had to have been designed by a musician or a roady.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't needed any assistance. the instructions were simple.
The Wow Factor
I will not play without it now that I have experienced the difference

Sound
I really like it as I can clip this on my music stand and adjust the levels easily. The sound response is great as I have a thinline pickup on my accoustal guitar. Great performance for the price.

"Control of my sound!"
I have a K & K transducer on my Breedlove mandolin and up until now I had no control of my sound. I was unable to crank it up for leads and back off for playing rhythm. This is a big help even with just leaving my instrument on stage turned down and not worrying about feedback. Only thing better would be if it was cordless.
Musical Background:
I have been playing mandolin since I was 13 off and on. I have gotten serious in the past 2 years playing in a praise band .
Musical Style:
bluegrass, christian, rock

Got two to use on gigs with a tenor guitar and mandolin. Sound man was all smiles and the victims said we sounded great.

"Good punch for resonable price!"
Solid case, poor labeling on the letter, may rub off.
Sound
Since this is my first pre-amp I don't know how it compares to something else. For the size and price it does make my accoustic instuments much louer and warmer.
Features
Be careful inserting the battery. It would be nice if they included a 3 foot instrument cable to go from the unit to the instrument.
Ease of Use
After battery installation, very simple to use.
Quality
Some of the lettering is rubbing off already. The case is very strong and will stand up to many years of use.
Value
Not that many products on the market to compare in a portable belt clip unit.
The Wow Factor
Looks good in an ad.
Musical Background:
Active musician, teacher and recorder
Musical Style:
Christian, Folk
