I'll start with the bad. And, for me there was only one negative. YES, there is a hiss when there's no activity. However, my HS8's did the same thing! Didn't bother me than, doesn't bother me now. As they are made to play music, odds are you will not care either! For the good; I was thinking these would be complete overkill for the small space I'm using them in. I could not be more wrong! You don't need to drive them hard or turn them up loud to understand the incredible fidelity three way monitors bring to the game. For my multi-use purpose of studio monitor as well as 'home stereo' speakers, I'm more than pleased. I did my homework, and felt there was no better option at this price range! These brought the dynamics that HS8's could not. Accurate, but the ability to bring more than a traditional monitor to the listening experience. HOME RUN. If you'd been a fan of KRK, these won't let you down. You would have to spend a LOT more to even come close to what you get out of the 10-3's!

"Unwanted frequences noises from the mid highs"

My Rokit 10-3 G4 make strange noises out of the mid highs, It almost sounds like radio frequencies. I tested with just the power cable, power conditioner and nothing else plugged in and I get the same results all over the studio and at home. It looks like I will be sending them back. What a shame because they sound good playing music through them. I tried calling KRK/Gibosn and they were not interested in helping or capturing my info about this case. I was shocked!

"Oh strange noises coming out of the mid highs"

There are some strange noises coming out of the mid and highs. Sounds like radio frequencies. Attempted to call KRK which is now owned by Carvin and they were absolutely no help. Each time I called they acted like there was nothing wrong with the speakers and didn't offer to repair the speakers because they were over the one-year warranty. I will not be buying any more Krk speakers.

"The Best Monitors"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

They hit all ranges basically two monitors in one, KRK, and the Yams are the standard the next step up from these would be Barefoot which is another level in price. last review must be new to this. That sounds like you have a bad signal path in your setup. Nady HE-1 Hum Eliminator would have saved you the support calls.
