I bought the JHS Violet from zZounds based on the videos online and more than anything for the low gain tones Lari Basillio shows off in the online videos. This pedal has not improved my playing or made me a virtuoso but it really does nail that low gain / transparent gain / bluesy dripping clean but with some dirt tone that I was searching for. It also does all the high gain distortion you may or may not be looking for. Once again JHS got it right. Great pedal. The EQ response and the way the mids are separated before the distortion is really cool. I got the black one because the purple was just too much for me. Overall very satisfied. Thanks zZounds!!!!!
