I expect to run this thing into the ground before replacing it. I am a hobbyist that assists new bands in cutting their first demo in addition to recording my stuff so it performs to my needs and expectations.
Sound
The immediate effect is that one's overall sound becomes full and that the regular monitor speakers now have better capacity to handle the frequencies for which they were designed. Of course, this then requires you to tweak your overall system's eq/volume levels.
Features
Has controls for you to choose your crossover point. Has multiple sets of connections to allow for use with JBL monitors or another brand.
Ease of Use
The manual is clear enough to get the equipment set up quickly and easily. It is also indepth enough to guide you on how to tweak the equipment as you become more familiar with how the product performs in your particular setup.
Quality
It is built like a tank. Finish is nice, controls do not feel cheap, connectors are snug.
Value
Am extremely happy with the product performance/quality for the price paid.
Manufacturer Support
Have had no need to deal with JBL support. However, their customer service delivery (website, availability of research material, clarity of manuals) warrants a high mark in my experience.
The Wow Factor
It is a practical addition to my setup. It is a well-made, excellent performing piece of equipment for the above-average home studio.
