"Can't beat it in this price range"

Merry Christmas to me. After reading up on all of them in this price range $2-300, i pulled the trigger on this one. Read on for my honest opinion. The paint was done well. Neck joint was tight and feels really solid. Pickups are quite hot really. Plenty of bottom and crisp highs. The mids r a tiny bit low. But i have a knob on my amp and distortion pedal to take care of that. Sound like you could summon Satan himself when palm muting and hit the distortion. They're not for gigging with though. You will have a handful keeping this beast under control at stage volume. Then again, this isn't that guitar. I did lower them a bit as it would try to dirty up my clean channel. No big deal. I wouldn't swap em out on this guitar. Because, You'll spend the price of the whole guitar to do so. The bridge is okay. Nothing special. This is an area where they had to save some money. Though i understand that. Not even going to knock them for it. There is a hipshot bridge that will work on this thing. It's about half the price of the guitar. But the jackson bridge definitely does it job. And new mounting holes will need to be drilled. Talk about measure twice and cut once. I did have to polish the frets as they were a tad bit tarnished. The fretwork overall was a nice surprise for a cheap guitar. Honestly, i expected to have to sand/file the ends over. Nope. It was just sitting around a bit before I bought it. The tuners are another pleasant surprise for an entry level instrument. Be sure to tighten the nuts on the headstock. Don't forget the mounting screws either. And because i like a lil resistance when tuning, i tightened the button screws also. The nut wasn't cut too well. I know that this is sometimes the case with instrumens in any price range. It only needed a few light passes with file to get it just right. I'm talkin about maybe a 64th of width and ever so slight angle on the back side. Between the adjustments to the nut, tuners, and Innotation, it stays in tune like a much for expensive guitar. Without a doubt in my mind. Though a harder nut (which ever brand you like) is going to be done here before too long. The setup was pretty close. Innotation, not so much. It didn't like having 10's on it. The neck just didn't want to straighten out for me. I tightened the truss rod pretty tight. To the point where i feared breaking it. That being said, once i just put 9's on, she was perfect. This guitar is not shoddy or subpar at all. Perfect for anyone just starting to play or just learning how to get down on a 7 string (me). A brand new player might want to have their teacher or guitar guy to go thu it. To back track a bit, the packaging was impressive. The outer carton was huge and nicely stuffed the actual Jackson box. The inner Jackson carton was also neatly and securely done. Awesome job zZounds. So, overall i definitely would recommend this instrument.

"Killer guitar for cheap"

Didn't know what to expect ordering a 200 guitar online, but i am extremely happy with my new axe. For $200 this is the best guitar you can get imo. All the important stuff is solid. the neck joint is tight, the frets are smooth and even, the finish is cool, the bridge is surprisingly solid, and the tuners are decent. it actually arrived set up and almost in tune! I read a lot of reviews saying that the pups are weak, but they're actually not that bad. I'll probably swap them out down the road, but going to rock them for now. i was really happy with this guitar, easily as good as $5-600 guitars, no bs. i might swap the nut with a graph tech, but the stock one is fine, just plastic. everything else is killer. if you know how to work on guitars, this is the best one for the $$.

"Solid."

This guitar is solid. I got this because I play in drop A# with my main band and standard tuning with a cover band. I needed a guitar for standard but did not want to just get it for that, so with that in mind I was on the hunt for a seven string. What sold me to this model is the controls are out of the way. This is a plus for me. Im usually hitting the volume knob or the three way blade is usually to close, however with this its just right for me. The volume knob however is weird on my model. It goes from zero to full like normal, but give it some push and it goes right back in a circle and repeats. Its cool, but i think the knob it just defective. I wont knock it down because it works still and has zero issues. The guitar is light, and with the extended scale I have to wear it up closer on me which is fine, and makes it super comfortable to play.I also mentioned I play in standard tuning and drop a# with my main, for those of you that dont know, it is c standard with drop d, on this, just tune the six up a half step, then drop the b down a half*note the high b and e strings will be different because playing on a seven now* I am able to play with regular seven string gauge and it feels great(9 to 56) but i will switch to 10 to 58 because thats how I like it. This guitar is solid, stays in tune and is a great workhorse. Enough room for mods and its just awesome.

"Great fixer upper"

If you're looking for something to experiment on or are a beginner and want to try a 7 string, great deal here. If you're an intermediate player swap out the pick ups and change the tuners, otherwise you're better off saving up another $200-$300 for a better guitar.
Sound
Decent clean tones, terrible high gain.
Features
Cheap.
Ease of Use
Bridge is solid. Tuners need to be swapped, had trouble keeping in tune.
Quality
For the money, this is a damn near perfect guitar. No fret buzz and it came perfectly intonated.
Value
If you swap out the pickups and tuners it could easily be mistaken for a more expensive guitar.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to contact them.
The Wow Factor
You get what you pay for.

I'm an older player and I bought this to advance my playing on a 7 string and I couldn't be happier. The neck feels naked on back and the piranha teeth make it look great . The response of the jackson humbuckers is full and slightly cut mids is refreshing in this price point. Workmanship is beyond what I got with an Ibanez semi acoustic costing twice the money.

So I have been wanting to try 7 string for a few years and decided on this one after reading reviews. Pros. The body is beautiful if you like the satin look. Neck is perfect for my size hands. I have short fat fingers but can still bar the neck. Cons. The tuners are god awful. I thought I would replace pup first but hell no. I'm getting new tuners. You have to set this guitar up and I mean the whole nine yards. If you don't you will hate it. The pups are ok for the price but needs replacing. If your looking for something cheap to try out and than mod like I am doing its great it really is. But if you don't know how to setup a guitar or don't want to change hardware. Save up and buy something else.
