I had tried two other rca to usb adapters before this one, and they both had background noise of one kind or another which spoils the mix. Although these kinds of adapters are not as fast as the new Firewire connection (Mac), this Ion Audio RECORD2PC runs clean and quiet.

"Stay away "
Bought this item thinking it would be easy to use with the program that it comes with. I got it downloaded and save a project to go back to and now I can not open program. Have even tried uninstall and reinstall no luck. Do some research and you'll see the numerous other users that are have the same exact problem.
