"Surprisingly fun product"

The set is perfect until the girls show that they're ready to move up to a traditional floor set.
Sound
I purchased this electronic drum set as a Christmas gift for my two granddaughters, but my son and I have been chasing them away so we can use it. Back in the day, I played in a garage band (we're talking 45 years ago here) and owned a set of Pearls so I know what good sound quality is. This low=priced set comes remarkably close to the real thing.
Features
For parents, the most useful feature are earphones. The girls can bang away all they want without annoying anyone else.
Ease of Use
Controls provide a surprisingly broad range of tones. Easy to assemble, easy to use.
Quality
Because the set has been in use for only a couple of weeks we don't know how reliable it will eventually prove.
Value
The set was purchased as a toy, but it is far better than that and I caught it during a pre-holiday sale for $30 less than I found it online anywhere else. A huge bargain as far as I'm concerned.
Manufacturer Support
Have not had any problems that required contacting the company.
The Wow Factor
Fun quotient is off the scale.

"Decent kit, Horrible support"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
I have a 1/8 cable running to a Line In on my (Windows, i7) desktop, pumping out through my desktop speaker setup. Very good audio quality, especially for this price range.
Features
I can't find another kit that has as many sounds (108) as this kit for less than $300, got this for Christmas but saw it on sale previously for $160-ish
Ease of Use
Fairly easy to use, setup, etc. Users should note that there's a few different levels of volume adjustment (easy to get to each) at the levels of each pad, the overall kit, and the kit output.
Quality
Overall, pretty well done. Mine had a defective brain (worked great except for the tom 2 pad, which had 10% of the volume the rest of them did at the same settings). Sent that in, talk about the process in a moment. The rack is fairly sturdy, gets torqued occasionally and the knobs are finger-tightened (instead of tool-tightened, both have their pros and cons but I prefer to bring a ratchet or two and make sure it stays still). The pads themselves are very sturdy, air ring around the rims, nicely done and fairly repositionable.
Value
This is a great value, just hope yours works because you could get a part-time job, make some money, save it, and get a much nicer kit from Yamaha before they get all your stuff back to you.
The Wow Factor
Appeal: small space, decent quality.

"Quality sound and easy to use features that will make your percusion department have colour. Compact to fit your busy play time"

I am pretty well content.
Sound
I chose this unit to make my recording a little more compact. It matches well with my programs on my keyboards and the mix does not have to be touched to balance if any at all. Simple yet versitile.
Features
N/A
Ease of Use
Didn't have to use the manual. It was a natural and no problems.
Quality
My only point is the fact that of the adjusting of the parts to often from play. Tighten to much you can break a plastic grip or connector. On the road it is light weight.
Value
I liked the price compared to others of the same. Others were overrated. I just needed something to simplify what my job consisted of.
Manufacturer Support
This is my first time purchasing the ION. Everything I needed to do was taken care of in a professional manner.
The Wow Factor
It matches all my other equipment in the studio. It goes well with my rack system and Cakewalk.

I am a guitar / drums / bass teacher and needed a cheap set for teaching lessons on in my apartment. I was worried about buying something online online I hadn't tested in person but was pleasantly surprised. as long as you have a good amp to plug it into it sounds great. the only thing I don't like is the kick pedal. it sticks on me every now and then but its a small price to pay for saving that much money.

"Cheap but useful when it works."

It is unusable in it's original form and must be used with better pads to be functional at all.
Sound
It sounds ok. Not the greatest since you can't control the sensitivity of the pads but if you need to make the general sounds of a drum kit this will do that for you.
Features
It doesn't have a MIDI input and that makes hooking an interface of a kit with better pads to the brain impossible unless you hook up the pads with 1/8" mono jacks. It doesn't let you adjust the sensitivity so sometimes you get misses and false readings.
Ease of Use
The menu is annoying to navigate. The many cables needed to hook up the pads make a tangle of wires that can get confusing if you want to change up the configuration of your pads without going to the annoying menu to do it there.
Quality
The mounting hardware included is almost worthless. The parts are made of brittle plastic & splinter away when you tighten them. It works fine if you plan on simply displaying your kit somewhere but actually playing it is difficult as the pads constantly shift down upon each strike.
Value
It's cheap and it works except when it doesn't like mine where I can't use the pedals without each tap of my foot creating about 3-5 kick drum sounds coming from the speaker. Makes playing it impossible unless I just use the brain with better pads.
The Wow Factor
It is cheap, flimsy and takes up more space than I'd like to give it. It was cheap to buy and so I think it was pretty much worth what I paid for it but it could be way better.

"Disappointed with over-sensitive pedal"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars

I'm a guitar player looking for an inexpensive set of electronic drums to start learning on. I liked the compactness and simplicity of this set; the pads and sounds are fine for beginners; and it's nice that sticks and headphones are included. Unfortunately, I returned this kit after a week or so of playing because of the kick pedals. They are too sensitive and really hard to play at higher tempos. I could probably have gotten used to them, but would rather spend that time and effort learning on a more realistic set. So now I'm looking at the lower-end Yamaha and Roland kits.
