"First Multiscale bass"

I purchased this bass and the darkglass preamp from zZounds as a cheaper alternative to a Dingwall. As far as sound goes, it’s awesome. A ton of midrange and enough bass to shake the house down. Treble is a little harsh at times with the stock preamp. My only complaint is the tuners. They don’t hold as well as I’d like. But overall a solid 4/5.

"Ibanez Fanned Frets & Bartolini's"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I love my 5-string SR fanned fret bass! The quality is 10/10 and the sound range is stupendous. And the feel is to be felt to be believed, the reduced tension on the longer scale (particularly the low B string) is God's gift to my index finger :-)

"Good bass bad tuners."

This bass is easy playing and has the ability to sculpt a good modern hard rock and metal tone. The Bartolini pickups do a decent job. The tuners do not hold like expected so unless you want to swap them out or continually tune then this isn't the bass for you. The aesthetics are pleasing to the eyes and the neck is comfortable.

"Awesome Bass but structural issues?"

When I first got this bass, I was amazed by the tone & the ease of play with the multi scale neck. However within 7 months if owning it, it developed a wicked twist in the neck that wasn’t able to be fixed. I asked my tech that I took it to if I did this & he said no, he’s been seeing a lot of Ibanez’s in his shop & it’s something to do with the cure of the wood that was used. I had a lot of health issues this winter & never got around to complaining so its too late now. Its junk now & I still have two payments left.
