Good sound and comfortable. Enjoying the shorter scale. Only problem is the frets haven't been worked. Other than that pretty good bass.

So, i have had zZounds send me three of these in seafoam pearl green. NONE of this is at the fault of zZounds, but the QC of ibanez. The first one needed serious fret work, but then again all ibanez guitars under $800 need fret work. Because from the ibanez's own reps mouth "fret dressing is offered on our premium lines" wait, what!? Fret dressing is now considered a "premium" service? Wtf ibanez. The backplate had a 1/8-1/4" step between the body and battery plates, the neck had a spot where a small knot in the wood wasnt fully finished out where the board meets the neck. zZounds said send it back, we will send you out another. Ok no problem. They send me out a second one, same fret issues (obviously) se backplate issues, but this time the paint finish didnt even meet the backplates (solid base layer white all around the baseplate line), the nut was ground so deep that no amount of truss or saddle adjustment would get the strings off the fret bars. Basically an unplayable piece of firewood. zZounds said, we are sorry (idk why its not like they QC build them, this is all on ibanez) so they send me out a third, this one darn near perfect, key word NEAR. frets still need the obvious serious work, but everything else looked really good, then i came to the saddles that are maxed out in height, ugh, now i have to adjust the truss rod, the saddles, maybe even the nut to get he action on this thing to go lower without constant fret buzzing. But fine, whatever, its all things i can do or have someone else do. The problem is, I SHOULDNT HAVE TO. Now, the tone does seem a little flat (or lacks depth) the preamp can be harsh if not adjusted correctly. The overall sound quality is ok nothing to write hone about but not bad either. You WILL get fret buzz no matter what you do. At $329+ the value just isnt there for the money and time youll have to spend on this bass brand new. The only redeeming quality is the seafoam pearl green color. which i wish ibanez and other manufacturers used more often. I will say, the team at zzounds is top notch, and the best service ive had in ANY industry, whether thats music or just construction or sales.
