This bass is a keeper! I will buy a fretted bass in the future. This bass can be very expressive so my playing can only improve with this bass. Before I bought this bass I read many reviews from different music outlets. It rates nines and tens in most categories.
Sound
I absolutely LOVE this bass! I have 25 years of playing experience and have owned Ricks,Hofners, Fenders and Kramers. I will have to put a lot of time into figuring out how to approach the eq question. This bass is so versatile that any tone one can imagine is possible. My amp is a Hartke Kickback 12 which is a perfect amp for this bass. I play jazz but any style is coverable. This bass is capable of extreme lows and highs. It is much better than my American made fretless I had years ago!
Features
Build quality is very good and it looks beautiful. The neck is fast with low action. It would be great if Ibanez built this model in red or blue. Factory set-up is perfect. This bass is not for the lazy-it has astounding capabilities. It requires a serious investment of time to fully check out it's tonal features. It can sing like an upright! Some players might want to use flats for a more mellow personality.Take care of this instrument and it should last a lifetime.
Ease of Use
The controls are intuitive and dynamic. You will have to make love to this bass many times to get the full potential. Cement heads will not like this bass but folks who have a wide pallet of musical taste will love it.
Quality
Compared to basses costing more this is the deal of a lifetime. If you are going to music college and want quality for a great price look no further! The finish is perfect and the bridge is better than most.Qc is excellent and the owner's manual gives you all needed info on intonation and action adjustments. Ibanez seems to be a great company and they do everything right!
Value
It is worth every penny and more!
Manufacturer Support
I have not needed repairs, but my guessis it's first rate. I have always admired the Japanese for their work ethic and this bass, even though it was made in Indonesia ,was designed by Japanese engineers with input from many bassists.
The Wow Factor
It looks great, sounds great and I want to be buried with it!

Action is horrible out of the box. If buying this bass as a gift, need to take it to a guitar tech to have action and intonation set. I do this work myself so it wasn't a big deal. All of the knobs needed to be tightened. The nut on the input jack was loose also. I had to router a path for the pickup wiring so i could lower the pickups all the way. But after the work was done and the neck was adjusted, this thing plays really good.

I own two other basses I will consider this my third, I will explore my Ibanez products. If this bass was lost or stolen I would replace it with the same bass.
Sound
Great sound for the price. My style of playing varies and this bass works well for me. This is my first Ibanez but not my last.
Features
Lot's of features in bass priced at $300.00 Can't ask for much more.
Ease of Use
Playing a fretless is new for me but over all enjoyable, all controls are well situated to get the sounds and tones desired. The manual is basic and what you would expect from an inexpensive product.
Quality
Product seems to be made well and looks good. It also seems to be reliable but not really put to any test at this point, only have it for a month. What I dont like is that it requires a 9 volt to operate. When the bass was shipped it came with a battery and a cable, none of which worked.
Value
yes it was worth the price.
Manufacturer Support
First time for me, had no need to contact manufacturer.
The Wow Factor
I dont know about sex appeal that's not what it's about for me, but for the price it's a great bass. Just wish it was offered in more then one color.
