Playing this through a Bassman 500 head/Rumble 410 cab. I was stunned at the neck and how easily in general this plays. Worth every penny to get this pro series bass. I have 2 other Ibanez (Gio, SR300), a Jackson JS3, Yamaha TRBX305 and Fender Precision, none of which remotely compare to the SR1800. Got a pro setup and there was very little adjustment needed out of the box. Nordstrand pickups are hot. Delighted with the sound. My favorite feature is the EQ bypass. This bass sounds fine in active mode, but is absolutely perfect for me in passive. Nice that, in passive mode, the treble EQ knob serves as a tone control. Color is breathtaking. I much prefer this color to any of the other SR1200 to 1900 zZounds sells. Gig bag is nice and thick, but there was no way I was going to store this bass in a gig bag. Even if they raised the price $75 - $100, it should come stock with a hardshell case. That's my gripe with any bass costing over $1000 that comes with a gig bag. My only other complaint is the strings. I heard a lot of good things about the stock Elixirs, but they aren't for me. Switching to DR strings.
