Ibanez SIX28FD Iron Label S Electric Guitar, 8-String

No ordinary 8-string, this beastly Ibanez beauty boasts a burled bubinga top, growling DiMarzio D Activator 8 pickups, and a 5-piece Nitro Wizard 8 neck.

My experience was totally opposite of the other review (and I have seen others displeased with the Iron Labels, seems they can be hit or miss, so I'm not dismissing their experience). Mine was built in February of 2014 and arrived from zZounds in almost flawless condition (ordered it mid-May). The frets are a little rough but not at all sprouted (the neck binding is smooth and undamaged). The clear coat over the body and headstock is sleek and flawless, the neck is smooth and the hardware is okay. The tuners keep tune very well and I'm coming from a background of double locking guitars. It is not as orangey as you see in pictures online, but a nice woody color. The pickups are very powerful, thick, and defined. I love it for high gain stuff, but psoition 4 (neck coils parallel) is very nice for cleans. The selector is a little clacky/noisy in the speaker if you aren't careful. It's almost as light as my 6-string S1XXV, too. Mine shockingly came with no setup issues, either, the action is low and there's no buzzing (maybe a little on the 8th string, but the .065 is a little too small for it imo). I love my guitar and I'm glad I got a good one :)

People need to be careful about reviews, Remember the competition will troll websites giving bad reviews to competitor products. Enough said, This instrument is one fine piece, I own several Ibanez guitar and never been disappointed. This guitar is just so gorgeous and when i plugged it in i was blown away by the tone and clarity of this beauty. I set my tuning to F#,B,E,A,D,G,B,E in that way i can play regular 6 string stuff and have the pure metal on the other 2 low strings. If you cant get a good tone out of this guitar its simply because you don't know how to set up your amp or multi effects EQ. Please watch this vid and you see what i mean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYtXBUS_kwY Now that you have your EQ set up right just plugin this guitar and metal away. The tone and sustain are second to none and the neck fell so fast and good. trust me this is my first ever more than 6 string guitar i ever owned or play, but i tell you you will get used to it fast. Remember what i said about reviews, be open minded and try for yourself before you listen to lies.

"Ibanez, please buy a sander and a ruler."

This is the most horrendous guitar I have ever seen. It looks beautiful in the picture, but the second I took it out of the box, I realized this guitar is absolute garbage. The guitar is clearly not sanded properly. All the frets stick out of the sides of the neck, you can see saw and planner marks all over the guitar, the neck is sanded extremely poorly and you can feel spots that are less sanded, the finish is patchy and not even, hardware looks extremely cheap. This guitar has the build quality of my little cousins $75 strat replica, and even that has better fret work than this thing. I'm almost offended that I received a guitar like this for the price tag. This guitar is seriously worth around $100 in craftsmanship.
