Ibanez S620EXQM Quilt Top Customer Review

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Thin maple veneer dulls the sound a little bit. Warm tone to it, not too much attack. Pickups are the WORST stock pickups i've ever heard. Not shreddy at all, swap out asap.
Features
GREAT tremolo system. You can abuse the trem horribly and it will alawys faithfully stay in tune. The ZR alone merits the guitar a 1-.
Quality
The Cosmo black hardware is utter failure. Everything is wearing down to chrome, the pickup rings look godawful as they slowly wear the cosmo black off. My volume is straight chrome and my tone is smoky black still. Tone is a little dull. Not huge like a giant slab of mahogany, but kinda of muted. The pickups are god awful, without a doubt the saddest excuse for stock pups i've ever heard. Totally unacceptable for a guitar in this price range. Luckily, the neck, fretwork, finish and tremolo are absolutely top notch. Beautiful fast neck, just thin enough. The ZR is one of the best trems I've ever used and the Quilted Veneer is gorgeous. Bring what would otherwise be a 4-5 guitar up quite a few notches.
Value
Great Trem, good QC, good Korean construction. Horrible horrible, stock pickups, especially considering the price.
