Jiva just arrived. I put it to the test its everything they said it is. I am pleased with the construction even though its made in Indonesia. I couldn't find any flaws. Jiva just needed to be tuned it was stage ready. The guitar is well balanced at the neck. My only complaints are the stock pick ups for jiva jr are out of the box ibanez pick ups and they are real noisy. There's nothing wrong with them but you will need to turn off volume when in stand by. I knew this going into this purchase. I am replacing the ibanez PU with DiMarzio PU found on the higher end models. DP276F PANDEMONIUM neckDP175SBK# TRUE VELVET midDP277F PANDIMONIUM bridge The jiva jr is basically the same guitar as jiva x . the only difference I can find is in the finish and the pick ups. By adding the Dimarzio PU you get a hybrid that compares to the high end jiva.I'm defiantly a shredder so I like that the neck gets thinner towards the bridge for ultimate playability. I have found the 5 PU positions allow for a diverse tone and shape. It sounds good in multiple genres you done have to be a metalhead to enjoy this guitar
Sound
This guitar can be used in multiple genres.
Features
The volume and the wammy are in a weird spot but that's a learning curb I can overcome.
Ease of Use
Very playable smooth fast action. Great sound. Stock pick ups are noisy consider a 3rd party pick up if it bothers you. The overall sound is very nice.
Quality
The construction is flawless much to my surprise for and Indonesian made. No complaints.
Value
I think the price is right.

The Wow Factor
I needed a guitar that has a tremelo system with passive pick ups. It fits the bill.

Received the jiva Jr and played it hard! Most impressive axe I've had the pleasure to put thru it's paces. Fit and finish is superb, action is spot on our it the box! Pickups are perfect as is and don't need changing?! A must buy for sure! Kudos to Ibanez and Nita on this fantastic collaboration!

THANK THE GODS that zZounds has a generous return policy. For the reason, read on...I bought a Jiva Jr. from zZounds about a year ago and absolutely loved it. The action was low and fast straight out of the box--I didn't have to adjust anything--and it sounded great: the Ibanez pickups really delivered. The only problem was that the A and G strings would *not* stay in tune, no matter what (and I've been playing on double-locking vibrato bridges for decades, so it's not as though I don't know how to operate one). So that particular Jiva Jr. had to go back.I ordered another one recently, and this time it stayed in tune but had horrendous action. I messed with this thing for over a week, tweaking the bridge and truss rod dozens of times, and the lowest action to be had without notes on the upper frets being literally unplayable was over 1mm on the high E and 1.5mm on the low E. For a *shred* guitar, that's unacceptable. That guitar, too, was sent back.Sooooo that brings us to now. I got a *third* Jiva Jr just today, and it came with both the low and high E strings at more than 2mm above the fretboard and--added bonus--the vibrato screwed in so tightly that the bridge looked like a boat with one end rapidly sinking. So I adjusted and tweaked and yadda yadda yadda and it *might* be playable now. Maybe. The action is now just under 1mm on the high E and 1.25mm on the low E, BUT the notes on the upper frets choke out without much bending at all.Oh, and there's glue on the fretboard. So this one is probably going back, too.I REALLY want to love this guitar. I loved the first one to death, so I've been truly hoping that another will be just as playable and yet stay in tune. Well, the two recent ones have stayed in tune so far, but playability? Not so much.C'mon, Ibanez, can you just get your act together?
