Ibanez FRIX7FEAH Iron Label Electric Guitar, 7-String

Perfect for aggressive, high-performance genres, this axe is ready to melt some faces. The dual EMG 707 active pickups produce a thick, high-octane tone.

Only issue i have with it is the body is super light so the head stock end is always falling, not very comfortable to play because of this with a strap. Other wise this guitar rips, very smooth and playable neck, looks killer and sounds pretty good with the stock emgs. I also bought a set of white modern fishman fluence pickups to put in it

So, there’s a few issues with this guitar.1.) the pickups are garbage. They come with EMG707’s and they’re muddy and overall just a garbage pickup. I swapped them out for Bareknuckle Ragnaroks. Whatever pickup you choose remember they’re soapbar style PU. 2.) the kill switch is sort of cheesy. I found no real use for it and ended up putting a tone pot in with push pull ability, this way you can do coil-splitting and really broaden your tonal abilities. *note* you cannot coil tap/split the EMG’s that come with it. They come with one wire setup. 3.) the guitar had nice hardware but the hardware doesn’t stick tuning issues. I have to tune the guitar EVERYTIME I pick it up. Maybe the quality control in Korea is substandard and they don’t dry the wood properly, IDK — it’s definitely an issue. 4.) this is a small issue and possibly only one I’ve had... the bone nut at the headstock wasn’t glued down so when I pulled the strings off it was sitting there loosely. Again, not a big issue but certainly a quality control issue.Aside from all of that, the guitar plays decently. The frets were a bit sharp but that’s an easy fix. It’s also a sexy guitar. I bought it solely for the tele style. The black with white binding looks great. I love the guitar otherwise. It just sucks that Ibanez doesn’t put a little more into quality control.
