What great guitar. I truly impressed. I've owned my Ibanez AZ for about 10 days now, and it keep discovering new tones that this Guitar can produce. The 10 way dyna system is extremely versatile, it's capable of produce an amazing amount of useable tones. But in my option the star of the show is the neck humbucker in the single coil split. It's powerful and to my ears produces more of P-90 tone. Rich harmonics and warm rich tone. The finish on my guitar is flawless and looks like a very expensive piece of furniture. The pictures online can't really do justice to the beauty of the finish. The neck is one of the most comfortable neck I've ever played on. However, the roasted maple neck is dark in person than it appears in the online pictures I've seen, which is not a problem for me. Definitely a pro level guitar and sounds and plays like one. I high recommend the Az242bc. this guitar does it all from Jazz to hard rock. It's my desert island guitar.

Disregard Michael below, thanks for the return buddy, I got yours and at a great discount. Dont know about the "cheap finish" feel...feels and looks great to me.But seriously, this guitar has a feel. So many guitars I've owned and played have come and gone and some provide me with some sentiment and others are just...meh. Great on paper, but ultimately meh. This is NOT that guitar.I cannot say enough good things about the AZ guitars, including this one. This is the best playing guitar I've ever owned and Ive owned it all. If you're thinking an S-type devoid of single coils is sacrilegious, fear not; Ibanez has done some amazing stuff with the SD's hyperions and unlike many other coil split/tap systems, you ACTUALLY get single-coil sounds from this system. 10 truly different and beautiful/versatile tones. The roasted neck plays like a dream, and the stainless frets are a great feature. I haven't even mentioned the most awesome feature of all: the bridge. Who at Gotoh sold their soul to the devil for this? its unbelievable. I've long since sworn off floating trem bridges because of the technical upkeep of setting them up regularly, but this one is fantastic. I just doesn't go out of tune, period. no locking nut, just locking tuners and a good floating bridge and a great trem arm...I wish every guitar had this bridge. If you buy this guitar and don't like it, you probably werent looking for it to begin with. If you want one axe that can do it all, this is the one.

My third Indonesian Premium, two previous were Steve Vai sea foam green. These AZ's are fine instruments, pro quality, seamless playability, otherworldly tones through the two 10 position selectors, beautiful wood grain and paint, I am impressed and I'm 62 with 50 years of guitars behind me. The AZ242BC deep expresso burst is a sight, sound, feel, and function to behold. I recommend at least one! The WoW factor I gave 5 stars due to the quality control of the Ibanez Indonesian facility. And much thx to zZounds.com for helping make dreams real!!!

The guitar plays great. Feels great . The finish looks cheap . The pickups really shine in the split tones, but the volume drop off is very noticable. The neck and bridge pickup alone are very sensitive to the height adjustment . To me when they sounded good they squealed like a pig in a high gain sitch . I ended up sending it back.

Rock. Hard rock. Very hard rock.
