I received this Heritage h535 within the same few days as my Guild f1512, and while they are apples and oranges to some extent (the h535 is a semihollow, the guild a 12 string acoustic), they were both new guitars. The Heritage would be very playable right out of the box, a pristine guitar that felt perfect in my hands immediately. I checked the truss rod to ensure it had some tension (it was already adjusted perfectly, a tiny bit of relief), raised the stop bar to get my preferred break angle, tuned up, sounded and played like a million bucks. Hot-ish pickups, amazing playability, I'm sure this guitar competes with any similar model out there and needed the smallest amount of setup I have ever encountered - even the intonation was so close I haven't bothered adjusting it. The finish is flawless, the hardware very sturdy, the whole guitar is close to perfection.The Guild on the other hand... highest action I have ever seen on a new guitar (this may be by design with a 12 string acoustic, but really, like 3/8" at least nearer the body). The truss rod was slack, I had to give it several turns, sand half a femur off the bottom of the saddle, and it's still pretty high. The headstock veneer has a seam that makes it look like it was salvaged from a broken headstock. Two guitars couldn't be more different.

I have been playing guitar for over 30 years I just got mine yesterday and right out of the box it's set up beautifully. I have owned more guitars than I can count and this one blows them all away including the Gibson equivalent. I buy all my gear from zZounds they are the most musician friendly company out there today. If you are thinking about buying this guitar stop thinking and do it you won't regret it.
