Well, it is gaffer's tape but once thing I noticed that gaffer's tape is NOT supposed to do is rip paint off the floor and this more vinyl tape than the more cloth gaffer's tape that I'm used to took the paint right off the floor from where I used this. Wow, was I surprised and disappointed. Its NOT supposed to do that. Guess I learned my lesson and should pay slightly more for the more "cloth" gaffer's tape that doesn't leave residue nor take paint with it.

Do not buy this tape. What we received had more of a vinyl backing than cloth. I have used tons of Gaffer's tape and this is by far the WORST i have ever used. It is weak, chap feeling, and leaves Residue on EVERYTHING. It does not come off cleanly like every other gaffer's tape i have used. it tears like gaffer's tape but sticks like duct tape. Don't waste your money.
Go to B&H or Calumet or Filmtools
Ease of Use
it sticks on - but doesn't come off
Quality
i give it a 2 because it tears like gaffer's tape - but that is it - otherwise it is a 1 -
it sticks and leaves residue like duct tape. Tried to return it but apparently i am not allowed to. DONT BUY IT - terrible quality
Value
Yes - it is cheaper than other gaffers tape out there from film, photo, and music industry sources- but it is - well cheap
The Wow Factor
The vinyl 'cloth' is cheap feeling - embarrassing to use with other pro's around

As others mention, this has a vinyl-like surface. I often use this for temporary or permanent labels, and I prefer a smooth surface for that. I have not tried taping on a painted surface, which one reviewer complained about. As far as removing it from wood floors and metal, it has come off without leaving a residue, even after being applied for a long time. Again, this is my favorite tape, and I prefer it to the cloth-surfaced tape by a wide margin. But if you don't want a vinyl-like surface, this is not the tape for you.

This is the worst gaffer's tape I've ever used (across TV/film and sound industries). It is more vinyl-y instead of a real cloth tape. Reflects light as well (real gaffer's tape is purposely designed to not do this). Go buy some Permacel brand tape!
