I have had this HA73 Mic Preamp for a few months now and out of All my mic preamps it’s my Favorite ! I have a ISA One and I have a BLA B12a !! and the HA73 is is just different ! I like API sounding Pres and my ISA is always been my go to cuz it just fits my voice and goes well with my Mic . I have been lookin for a 1073 type mic pre or even getting a real Neve 1073 . Iv been to studios that have a 1073 and they sound so good and IMO the HA73 has that Same character ! I know there’s warms 1073, there’s BAE ! And GA 73 and also Alctron mp73 . They all have a good sound but from my Experience Heritage Audio HA73 has more of that Neve sound that iv heard personally ! I like the BAE 1073 and would have chose that but the HA73 is so close why pay 3x the price when The HA73 has the same Carnhill Transformers on Input and Output ! And the HA 73 has the 3 stage Class A preamp components ! Maybe BAE has better overall Build . Ok ! That’s fine ! But the HA73 is a way better Price/Quality Mic preamp Ratio then All the Others ! Iv seen people complain about heritage Audios Knobs and other things ! My Unit is built really well and Rock solid ! Potts and switches turn just fine and work perfectly ! And it Sounds so good ! The Carnhill transformers have the Grit and saturation I love and I can switch up and just have the output at 100% and get a super clean but thick sound ! This HA73 is so smooth too ! I like having a few diff Flavors for Vocals to be able to switch up the sound and the HA73 is my Favorite right now ! It’s the quietest Mic Pre iv ever used ! And it has the NEVE sound but at a better price ! You can’t go Wrong picking this Mic pre !
