"Great for small group"

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
It's small, so it takes up little stage real estate and doesn't hide either you or your view of the audience. It's loud enough for our duo application where stage volumes measure 100dba or less. My only beef is that it uses a "line wart" power supply and the line between the transformer and the speaker could be a foot or two longer. If you play at moderate volumes. I replaced an RMS RMA-15 that I've been using for about 20 years with this, and I like it enough to replace my duo partner's still working RMA-15.
Sound
here isn't a lot of bass response so if you want it to hear the balance of the PA mix this will be a problem. That's not what it's designed for. If you want to hear enough of the mix to sing on key this works just fine
Features
It's small but powerful for its size, and the volume, bass, and treble controls are handy and work smoothly.
Ease of Use
Ease of use? It's plug and play from a preamp output of your mixer.
Quality
It seems solid and well made. Of course, I just bought it so it hasn't stood up to the test of time yet, but Galaxy does have a good reputation so I don't expect any trouble.
Value
It's economical, and does the job, so it's good value.
The Wow Factor
The only wow factor is the small size. It fits in the gig box better than our old ones.

"Better for the older"
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Outstanding monitor with private and individual control. My keyboard and mic feed to a keyboard/PA amplifier in front (necessity) of the keyboard. This personal monitor gives me the freedom to increase volume for me without drowning the audience. Like it so much that another was purchased for an elderly hearing impaired member of the band and placed where he could hear and control. "I CAN HEAR THE WHOLE BAND!!!" made it a fun installation. Finally, if an audience member is particularily hard of hearing, placing them close to the monitor and "cranking it up" makes it a joy to share.

"Very Nice Spot Monitor"
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Really like this mini-monitor. Decent build quality and seems sturdy enough to handle regular gigging, as long as you exercise reasonable caution with packing, transport, and set-up. It has adequate power when playing live, provided you position it close to your microphone. Its small size and low output power allows you to do that without feedback issues. Controls feel solid. The EQ actually works. Mounting hardware, brackets, cables, power converter, etc. are decent quality too. You can even configure it with your microphone mounted on top of the monitor (using a single stand). Note: This unit has one input jack, It "does not" allow you connect additional monitors to it. Too bad. That would enable me to rate it at 5-stars Overall, it's well worth the price. Just imagine how nice it will be to leave your big, heavy, floor monitors at home.

"Small and convenient"
It's probably best for a single, duo or trio that doesn't play at very loud volumes. But then it wasn't designed for anything else. It's a good little spot monitor for a person in a small group. It's a little lacking on the bass response, and the cable between the line wart and the monitor could be a little longer. Other than that, there's no problem.

Musical Style:
Music. It doesn't matter what kind as long as I can play it on the instruments I have.

"Up close with another"
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Won't play without one. Better than floor monitor because of placement close to musician. Full control for individual who works behind mains and can't hear floor monitors. Dropped one: bought another: bought another for elderly hard of hearing friend. Had one repaired under warranty. Considering eliminating floor speakers and adding a distribution system with an NSPA for each because we won't stick anything in our ear except our elbow
