I have the 2420T in Gunmetal and she is beautiful. I replaced the knobs with chrome G-Arrow knobs and it has a great classic look. Fit and finish excellent. A little buffing compound under the neck/body joint but no biggie. Bigsby is smooth and the hardware is decent enough and holds tune. I wrapped on some D’Addario Chromes and the playability is excellent. The only let down for me is in the pickups. They sound hollow and muddy. I have to really do a great deal of knob twiddling on my guitar and amp to get it to approach what is termed “that great Gretsch sound”. I’m gonna try a lighter round wound set of strings to see if that helps, but the flat wounds have always sounded great on my Filter’tron equipped Gretsches. Overall a nice guitar with pickups that just aren’t as good as they should be.
