"The Black Pheonix, The Don !"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I think they'll bury me with my Black Pheonix.
Sound
I have owned many Gretsch guitars over the years - this is my favorite by far, deep, jucie, taught & bell like, used with a new fender twin amp - pro series, crystal & ballsy!
Features
Not many features - less is more, very good functional Bigsby, great tuners, I always play my guitars wide open so don't need any tone pots !
Ease of Use
The guitar is 'my bag' & played sweet out of the box. Very playable - but mabe not for shredders - Brian Setzer is'nt exactly a slow player, is he ?
Quality
The quality & finish I could not fault!
Value
I've tried cheeper models, don't kid yourself, they are not the same, Good value mabe a little expensive but I would spend again if I lost mine.
Manufacturer Support
No reel oppinion - never used.
The Wow Factor
This guitar would make a nun moist.

"Gretsch Black Pheonix review"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This will be my main guitar for anything rock'n'roll, rockabilly and country. My Telecaster fitted with Kinman broadcaster pickups is my backup guitar and still performs many songs. If my Tele was hollow bodies - it would sound a lot like my Gretsch Black Pheonix. My Stratocaster and Gibson 335 '59 reissue will cover top 40 style gigs.
Sound
An amazing rock'n'roll sound. The TV Jones pickups combined with the authentic design of the body provide sparkling tones with plenty of zing and heaps of sustain
Features
It's a classic case of 'less is best'. The pickups are wired direct to the master volume with no tone resistors in the way.
Ease of Use
select your pickups and start playing .....
Quality
Well made, perfect finish with no blemishes. Very reliable and dependable. Should keep your eye on the guitar at all times - best to keep away from unwanted hands otherwise willdisappear into the night. Being a hollow body, extra care should be taken on the road.
Value
Very expensive RRP but you can get a good bargaiun if you sahop around.
Manufacturer Support
o contact with Gretsch so I will give an even rating.
The Wow Factor
Very sexy. The deep black finish is very attractive and I love the early 50's style headstock.
