I totally love this Workstation. I couldn't afford like the Pionner gear, but watching the reviews for the Gemini CDMP 7000 I wanted to give it a shot. So I was on the Hunt on looking for this Workstation. I looked everywhere even Guitar Center. So I went looking online and I read that ZZsounds had 2 reviews already for the Gemini. They looked promising, so I went for it.3 days later it came thank you Fed Ex lol.I opened it fresh out the box. Sticked in my USB drives. Started mixing and beat matching and OMG I fell in love!ZZsound thank you for having this deviceor else I wouldn't have this at all.Now my career is slowing going up, and I'm planning to buy more gear on ZZsounds really soon.I highly recommend this site to all my friends and people who are reading this. Try it out what you have to loose? No extra charge unless you ask for the item to come sooner of course but it's all good.Thank you

good controller for the price. There is NO flight case for this product anywhere. FC7000 case does not exist. never was produced. I've Google, called, and explored every flight case possible. Soft controller case is the only thing ive found, so i used my old numark mixdeck case for it with some foam removal and mods and it worked perfect. slightly a few millimeters bowed out on the sides but not noticeable at all and fits snug enough to work. front and back has plenty of space for storage and connections.
Sound
Sound was great, easy to set/adjust. Played at continuous high levels for 3.5 hrs straight in a 11,000 sqf ball room, no problems no distortion. mic inputs worked well with no popping or distort at all. cd's play well, usb and sd has good sound quality. I also used this without my 15 band EQ, only GX5 amp and cdmp mixer and i give it a 8 out of 10 on sound.
Features
slip function is a nice feature, changing formats is a breeze and loads quickly compared to the first mixdeck i had. i like being able to change formats with one push of a button on the cdmp. All the buttons seem to respond pretty good. the touch screen is great. Wave forms are nice feature in usb or cd. The master V.U. meter seems to be a little off. It takes alot of volume to make the l.e.d show up even at high volumes, but the channel V.U. meter registers great. All the features on here are basic, slip mode, mixing, looping, minor scratching...etc. if you are a performer this is not for you! cdmp comes with 3 built in efx, but i can use any efx off vdj i choose. the touch screen search strip is nice.
Ease of Use
everything is easy to use. just takes practice. very flexible! i have not had any software freezes or glitches yet. im very pleased so far. Also the jog wheel platters are too smooth, need more of a grip if you attempt to scratch. just have a vinyl sticker added. Can not mix seamlessly from midi to another format then back to midi. (GEMINI PLEASE FIX THAT!)
Quality
The quality is good. The solid black makes it look more professional. has a solid and heavy feel to it. buttons are very responsive
Value
price is right for the product.... 700 or less. id still pick cdmp over the Mixdeck quad.
Manufacturer Support
I emailed Gemini about a case fc 7000 or anything that would fit it. they did answer the next day. No case or recommendations.
The Wow Factor
The pro look of it, the angled screens, slip function, touch screen, can use time codes

"Most versatile DJ system for the low low"

I recently bought this DJ System for a second time because my original one, also purchased from zZounds, was stolen after a gig in Brooklyn. I've owned this machine for three years, and it's so good that when it came time to buy a new set I opted to buy it again. I originally bought one to replace the previous 6000 model I had wore out through heavy use and extensive performance DJing for years. The sound quality on the 7000 is excellent, I run this through a QSC KW181 and feed that through a QCS 1450HD power amp that powers Yorkville YX15, I normally play high quality mp3 with USB flashdrives and you hear as much details as when playing CDs. Other say that it's not really built for performance DJing but I beg to differ. this unit is able to handle my moderate turntablist skills easy. I wish the crossfader didn't have as wide a curve in curve mode, the music noticable fades with it in the middle. When I'm not beat juggling I mix with the channels and keep the crossfader flat and in the middle. Scratching is near perfect and doesn't sound artificial. I have used SD cards and I didn't notice a difference in sound quality or read speed. I never used the midi feature before but the Gemini company's sponsored DJs handle Serato on it well. (If someone from Gemini is reading, I'm looking for sponsorship. Links to my mixcloud and instagram are below) The CD slots are great, I had a problem with the CDMP 6000's tray loaded CD players. The touch screen I don't use that much but is very convenient for changing settings on the fly and skipping through music. I must add that some trakcs may take longer to load than others and skipping works better once the whole file is loaded. The hardware is durable and can handle life on the road playing for parties, open mics, B Boy battles and other styles, stage productions and backing rap/Hip Hop artists on tour all over the country. The preamp is very high so it doesn't take a lot of volume to be loud, as a result the master VU meter reads pretty low on most setups. If playing outdoors shade is a must, the platters get very hot. There has been the expected wear and tear when you're a DJ in high demand. The FX are very useful and a nice added touch. I could use more of them and a more controllable pass filter, but no complaints overall. I once had to send it away for repair and I got it back right away. Manufacture support loses points due to not having an available flight case for this system. As I mentioned before, the Gemini CDMP was so good that when I lost it I bought it again. I could've easily spent the extra money for the Pioneer XDJ- RX, but it lacks a CD player which is needed for open mics (some people still burn cds) and I can use the money saved to buy a close enough sized flight case for it. It's easy to use for experienced DJs or those learning the craft. Vinyl lovers will be able to adapt to the vinyl mode with no problem although the deep dive in volume with the crossfader is an issue if you crab scratch. The analog mixer in the middle can . The full color touch screen, 6 FX settings, Hot cue programing, looping, and the ability to manually tune the jog wheel feel from light to heavy and great add-ons to a great sounding and usable DJ System. Until Gemini Sound comes up with something better I give the CDMP 7000 two thumbs up.
