Beautiful guitar that plays as good as it looks. Not your typical telecaster. Way more streamlined than a typical tele weighing less and not as thick. Top notch craftsmanship with the only exception that the frets are a little sharp to my liking and I will need to have my tech smooth them out. Does not sound tinny like your usual tele. Sounds more like a strat. Simple design with a three way position switch. Takes pedals. very well and can sound gnarly with the right distortion pedal. Sounds great clean also. Easy to play and the craftmanship is high quality through out with the exception of the rough frets on mine. This will be an easy fix. Overall, I am quite happy with mine as it is a pleasure to play and it keeps tune quite well and it is a stunner!

I’ve been moving away from playing hard rock & metal so I was in the market for something with a totally different sound and vibe. I played a friends G&L Bluesboy tribute (overseas model) and liked it. I figured I’d give the American made G&L a chance. I had high hopes for this guitar and for $1700 you should too. The Good:Absolutely beautiful guitar. The wood grain behind blue, maple neck whats not to like. Very classic looking instrument! The electronics are top notch. The volume and tone are very responsive and the 3 way selector has no wiggle and locks into all 3 positions with a positive snap, the G&L pickups are exactly what I needed to produce the sounds I had stored up in my head. The bad:Neck feels like a meat grinder from about the 12th fret upThe 3ply pick guard looks rough cut and has burrs around the edges. In the middle of a jam session my high E started making strange sounds and wouldn’t tune up. Upon further inspection I seen that one of the set screws that holds the brass saddle in place has worked its way loose and is now missing(6 independent saddles) allowing the saddle to twist when being played. Im not going to sit here and complain about a little fret buzz or a guitar needing a quick set up out of the box but screws falling out and subpar craftsmanship is uncalled for. Hopefully this one is just a lemon and maybe the QC department is just overwhelmed because of the supply and demand of guitars these days.
