I've been playing guitar for over 45 years and having owned the very best guitars of American guitar makers, I can honestly tell you that the Guild F250E is a heck of a lot of guitar for the money. I also own the Guild F250CE which is an outstanding guitar and which motivated me to purchase the full jumbo bodied non-cutaway F250E. The fit and finish are outstanding on this model and the maple allows this instrument to sing loudly with crystal clear notes that are crisp, bright and very well defined. When I received the guitar, I removed the plastic saddle and replaced it with a compensated bone saddle. This allowed the action to be set much lower than with the factory saddle. I also replaced the plastic bridge pins with bone pins. This has helped the sound open up a bit more and has increased the volume of the instrument. The figured maple back and sides on this model are beautiful with the antique burst finish. The neck is as straight as an arrow which is uncommon for guitars at this price point. The fretboard and metal fret wire are well done and smooth on the edges and bound in white binding. This guitar has the magic that we all look for, that crisp wide open projected tone instead of a stuck in the body sound. Part of that sound could be attributed to the scalloped X bracing which allows the Sitka Spruce to vibrate more freely. Also keep in mind that the back is arched just like it's big brother, the Guild F55 which costs 6 times more than the F250E. With the arched support, you get a more focused and louder forward projected tone. The tone across the sonic spectrum is impressive with lows being felt against your chest as you play the guitar. The mids are full and the highs are extremely crisp. I can't speak for the electronics on the guitar but I did watch YouTube videos of play throughs on the guitar and the guitar sounded very good. The only thing I found on the guitar that I didn't care for are the tuners. I will be changing those out as well. These tuners do hold tune on the guitar though but, this instrument is worthy of great precision tuners. Don't let the made in China syndrome keep you from buying this guitar. If it does, you'll pass on a very well made guitar which can be stellar with the right setup. I also invested $150.00 on a Gator Jumbo case which IMHO is a good investment to protect my guitar. I just can see putting a guitar this nice into a soft case where it could possibly be damaged. I love my F250E and she's got the magic. She's a keeper....

I am a Guild guitar lover. A recording musician and I’ve used Guilds on all of my records. This one is special. Big body tone. Great action and you’re not fighting the dang thing the whole time. “Made to be played” is accurate!
