I have been playing Gibson guitars since 1963, I have owned and sold more of them than I care to remember, but then a starving musician has to eat and pay the rent. I am pleased to say that my many years of playing has paid off and I am now able to make up for the many guitars that I parted ways with. A couple of years back I bought another Gold Top, and recently bought a LPJ. Last week, I ordered up one of the "SG 60's Tribute" models. It arrived within 3 days,... and upon opening the box, I have not stopped smiling or playing this guitar,... I have to say that it is a great guitar by any standards! The only down side of the guitar is more personal than anything else. This guitar came with what I found to be .009 (high "E" ), strings,.. and I use .011, so I changed them. At that piont I went over the guitar as I do my own set-up's and found little to none to be changed. The only thing other than the strings is that I would have paid more for it to have had a pick gard,.. but then I can get one in the world of after market dealers. This guitar rocks, it sings and is full of soul. If this guitar was ever stolen, I would buy another one in a heart beat and then hunt down the theif and beat him soundly with a "Squire"!!! It is a great guitar for a beginer or as a stage primary or secondary guitar,... It's a Gibson,... there is no other kind, and a Gibson is one of a kind!!!

I would like to star off by warning you that Gibson or Epiphone SG has the top strap lock in the back of the guitar. If you are a real guitar player you need strap locks. The screw will need to be cut a quarter off so it will not hit the metal bar that the truss rod goes in. Important. I was not told this and found out the hard way.. Look up screw too long for SG. How ever you are not goig to buy a finer Gibson for such a low price. I just bought the 70s and wish my wife would let me buy my 7th Guitar. it would be this. I heard it and played because my friend bought this one and I the 70s tribute. . You are crazy not to get this smoking piece of art! The 60's has burst buckers and I played the original, sounds the same if not better>

Made in the U.S.A still means something. This guitar is my new favorite. After playing this through my Marshall I understand why some people won't use any other guitars on stage except Gibson!

This is an excellent guitar. Good tone and comfortable to play. The only issue I have found so far is the tuners aren't very good. I spend more time tuning it than playing it sometimes. But it is a Gibson so it is nice...
