I've been looking for a higher-end acoustic guitar for about 4 months and did a LOT of research. I decided that the Hummingbird Studio was the one for me. I ordered from zZounds and received my guitar within 3 working days. I got the walnut version because, well, I think it just looks cool! This is a large guitar. Granted, the body isn't quite as large as the traditional Hummingbird but it is still a full body guitar. The sound is fantastic and action was great straight out of the case. Unfortunately after about two weeks I noticed that the bridge was starting to separate from the body. Who knows what happened that day at the Gibson Montana factory? The wood may not have been up to standards, the glue didn't set, etc. It happens sometimes. I contacted zZounds and they were very prompt issuing a return (even paid for the return shipping). Note: Always keep the original shipping boxes as it makes it easier to return a guitar. Unfortunately, they are out of stock at this time and zZounds and I are waiting on Gibson. It is a fantastic guitar and I would recommend it. zZounds has been great to work with. The only reason I gave it 4 stars overall is simply because that I had to return it due to a manufacturing issue.

So I was back and forth over this or a Martin D-18I decided that it was time to be a really well made acoustic. I was lucky enough to find one of these in a small store so I got to play it. Wow the sound was incredible. Not only did I get that rich full Gibson sound, but it also seemed to be a lot brighter. Almost as if it had a really low chorus pedal. I decided to buy it and have never regretted it.
