This is my first guitar equipped with P90's and I couldnt be happier. They respond incredibly well to dynamics. If you play heavy handed, it will sound it. Same for soft picking etc. Straight into my Marshall DSL40CR, the guitar sounded shrill on the bridge pickup, but after adjusting the EQ and guitar knobs, I found the sauce. The Special really sings on the middle position with the neck pickup rolled back a little. I've been able to find good tones for rock, funk, blues, and jazz relatively easily. Mostly by adjusting the volume and tone knobs on the guitar. Versatile instrument. The fretboard feels really nice. It has rolled edges and is plek'd for a smooth experience. The neck is 50's shape, so it may be a little thick for some, but feels at home in my hands. The paint is nothing fancy or glossy, but it looks good. The guitar has a wrap around tail piece, which I'm not accustomed to. Hoping string changes are still simple enough. It was set up perfectly out of the case. No annoying buzz etc. Overall, if you like Les Pauls, thicker necks, and want to dive into P90 sounds, I can't recommend it enough. Not to mention we don't get a lot of options as lefties!P.s. it does include a nice case and basic accessories.

I bought this from zZounds last year. This guitar is a beast! It's actually heavier and thicker than I expected. Also has a super fat 50s neck profile. I've used this guitar for anything from rock, punk, shoegaze, and downtuned sludge metal and it screams. Those P90s will melt faces! As always, the zZounds crew with this a pleasurable buying experience. Thanks, guys!

"Gibson, really??"

Not that impressed with harshness of P-90's. Also, I've had to remove the back plate and clean the pots twice since I got this thing (3 months). And now the bridge pickup has gone completely silent. Don't know if it's the pickup or the pot. Gonna have to send it out to a luthier to figure it out. Not happy with this bother at this price. Gibson, really??
