"The perfect guitar."
Who doesn't want more guitars? I will have this until I die.
Sound
I am quite partial to the sound of my les paul dc. When I bought it I was playing through a Peavey transtube 60w express. Which it sounded fantastic through. I recently bought a peavey 40w triple xxx. It sounds even better through this amp. I have played this guitar through about every amp and effect you can think of as it often travels to the music store with me to try stuff out. It nearly plays itself and there isn't a dead spot anywhere on the fretboard. Because of the chambered body it is slightly more audible than the standard les pauls when it is not plugged in. Go play one and see if you can put it down.
Features
The 24 frets is a plus and a rare thing for gibson. One volume and one tone that's it, which to me is a little annoying compared to my old custom. The flame top is outrageous, you can stare at it for hours. (mine is black pepper)
Quality
Mine has a few nicks now but was in pristine condition when I bought it. It does need to be set-up with significant temperature changes. But a move to Florida fixed that. But it is easy enough to set-up yourself if you are one of those suckers in the cooler climates
Value
It's a guitar initially it will lose value, it's not a collectors item. but it is irreplacable to me.
Manufacturer Support
No need to speak to them.
The Wow Factor
It sounds great, it looks great, it plays great.

"It works for those who want it ..."
It rocks (or shouldI say "funks"?)!
Sound
Brighter than a "typical" LP' I use if for 70s funk and R & B.
Features
One volume, one tone; what more do you need? Slim taper neck and lighter than other LPs; a joy to play!
Ease of Use
What's to use; plug it in and wail!
Quality
Gibson at their best; quality fit and finish all the way.
Value
Got it for $1500; a steal.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to deal with any support on Gibson or Fender products (nor Dean, Hamer, PRS, etc.)
The Wow Factor
I think it's cool; a lot of people don't like the 24 9as opposed to 22) frets of a "normal" Paul, and it DOES change the sound, but that's what I was looking for ...

The 2003 Les Paul Standard Double Cut Plus with 24 frets has a Drop Dead Gorgeous Translucent Amber carved figured AAA maple top. Even with simple controls (1 tone and 1 volume), the 490R and 498T Alnico magnet humbucker pickups and chambered mahogany back provides unbelievable sustain and tone that revels the heavier LP Standard and Custom Models. It has a maple

"Younger-looking and less expensive Les Paul Standard"

Sound
This melifluous hunk of wood has great sustain, tone, and sensitivity. I played on an Epiphone Les Paul for years and never realized how rich and pure sound could be until I played on my double-cutaway.
Features
The humbuckers are the same ones that they use in the Les Paul Standards and provide noticeably better sound than the Studio. The double cutaway features only two knobs (Tone and Volume) as compared to 4 for all of the other Gibsons, which keeps it simple and straightforward.
The Wow Factor
It's a beautiful departure from the typical Les Paul. There's no pick-guard, a feature that really streamlines the appearance. The top has a rich finish, and the translucent amber model really shines.

Sound
a little muddier than my other les paul basses, sound quality rich and thick, great for southern rock and blues, the over all quality not has good has my custom les paul bass with the sliding bridge that is not set take the strings off and the saddles slide back and forth, u will have to reset the innotation, but that is the only flaw on the whole bass i just love the sound i get with it through my gk rb 1001,

Les Paul Standard Cutaway Customer Review
Sound
Singing mellow tones, sweet growl with overdrive, clear distortion roar. What more can you ask for?
Features
All you need, nothing you don't.
Quality
Have had it for years, I still have found no flaw with it that is not my fault. Solidly built with attention to detail. The neck is fast and a pleasure to play, even with the heavy strings I like to use (D'Addario 12's)
Value
The usually-overpriced-Gibson brand is giving out a good deal here, certainly much better than the standard LP. Quality woods, an iconic brand, and american craftsmanship at an affordable price.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to use them
