Gibson 2015 Les Paul Special Double Cut Electric Guitar (with Case)

Gibson's iconic dual-cutaway guitar returns with classic P-90 sound, plus a thicker fretboard for fatter tone and increased sustain. It's special, indeed!

I'm really getting used to not having a tuner to look at. Push a button, strum....boom, tuned. I've even used the G-Force as part of the show...."What, your guitar doesn't tune itself?" I did string it with .011's, and it intonates responds better. Took some practice learning to restring it, but now it's second nature. The rest of the guitar is, well, it's a Gibson. I haven't liked Gibson in recent years (poor craftsmanship, bad finishes etc, but this one is beautiful. I got the trans red. Really nice. The neck is different than previous Specials that I've played, but it really is super comfortable. And it weighs in at just over 6 lbs. Very easy on the shoulder. And of course, the P-90's growl. If I would change anything, it would be the case; It's on the large side. I'd prefer a LP style case, as opposed to this rectangular thing. Other than that? All good!!

Hey all, Listen, with all due respect; this Gibson Les Paul Special is an amazing guitar! I have owned plenty of Epiphones. I did some slight modifications and loved them. However I could never afford a Gibson. I have played many and search around the literature for years as I knew that I would purchase one someday. This guitar has awesome tone a killer fretboard and when I picked it up for the first time, I could tell it was made for me. Years ago I had the Epiphone version of the T.V. Yellow double cutaway, and let me tell you all I did to her was get a really good set up with Dimarzio strings and I loved puppy, but the evil pawn man got it, like so many others! The auto tuner try it! I was all in to it in 5 minutes. Push one button and perfect pitch! There is nothing wrong or cheap about the 2015 Gibson Special double cutaway. The signature of Les Paul is way cool with his 100th Birthday on the headstock is very cool and I would guess worth more money someday! The Les Paul logo on the back...it cool and it is set into the guitar and wont come off like a sticker would. It's new and sure it's different, but how many Les Pauls do you know have it? Come on Pro's don't discourage us not so pro guitar players. This a wonderful treat and the price is perfect. No more negative comments, please unless you own one and review it. It's just not fair to us novice and beginner guitarist. Gibson and ZZounds you are the Best of the Best. Thank you! Wayne Colorado

Beautiful fit and finish, nice bound neck which is a plus, set up from factory right on. Got rid of electronic tuners and replaced with Grovers. Just rather have "normal" tuners. Pickups are perfect, no need to go to aftermarket. Neck takes little to get used to, but once you adjust to it,will like little extra width. Mine is TV Yellow, love color, nice hardshell case. Also like having a volume and one tone control. A definite keeper

Purchased this guitar about 3 weeks ago, and it's a little on the light side and reminds me of the SG model, but has great sound. I will be resetting the neck as it does sit a little high but most I have bought new are too high for my standards. I love the new robot tuner, works great. It's a little off on the D tune but not a big deal to just have to tune slightly. It puts it in tune pretty good, but I haven't had it long enough to learn how to fully use it but has a lot of different modes and tuning capabilities. All and all I'm getting used to it day by day and think it's going to be a great guitar once I get it setup and playing and worn in.
