I always found it unusual to hear people demo Juniors and say things like "you'll be forced to get more creative with just the one tone and one volume knob" Roll the tone knob one way for bass, the other way for treble and to the middle for EQ at noon. On my Special Tribute, I try not to touch the tone knobs or the toggle switch. I stay on the bridge position which is what the two Juniors I have been playing for 15 years sound like. I'm not missing anything, the one tone knob gets me instantly dialed in. I prefer to focus on playing the strings than switching pickups

This would make a really good first guitar if someone were just starting out. The body is lightweight, the fit and construction and finish are really nice and it's price as a new Gibson is actually a really good deal

These Double Cut Juniors from them are usually only from their Custom Shop or temporarily produced as Limited Edition guitars like the satin finished Double Cut Tribute guitars that only lasted about 4 years from 2019 to the beginning months of 2002. Here and now we see this guitar coated in the upgraded (clear not the murky VOS) gloss finish. It's up to you to pull the trigger on this guitar while it's still being manufactured. I have very recently dealt with Gibson. I ordered one of their guitars and didn't like it when I saw it in person. I returned the guitar to Gibson in Nashville and Gibson immediately helped return the money from my loan back to Affirm. I asked them to exchange that other guitar for this exact one because both guitars sold for the same price. Gibson was willing to do my return, not the one for one guitar exchange. Thankfully, the return was processed, the loan with Affirm was confirmed as complete and my account wasn't auto drafted at the start of the month for the guitar I returned. I have always preferred to finance with Zzounds; the guitar I ordered from Gibson only sold direct through them- so I had to try ordering from Gibson. Zzounds doesn't charge interest to finance gear- which I like better plus check this out _we can call Zzounds, an employee who works there actually answers the phone so any time throughout our payments on the gear we are financing we can tell them "Id like to pay thi$ much more money to the balance of what it is I'm financing" - Affirm didn't offer that phone call. Affirm won't let you talk to anyone. Your monthly payments with Affirm would arbitrarily/beauricratcally linger on month to month, auto deducted at their pace only; even if you worked enough overtime to pay your balance off that day
