I a SO very happy I got one of these little rare birds before they are gone. They're not available with the MFI vendors. I love it. Just know that the description is not right. It came with a black and white case, has no coil-splitting, has four knobs and no splitter switch, and does not have "Custom" on the truss rod cover. That said, it's unique to offerings in the past! I'm very happy to have it!
Sound
The 490R/498T covered humbuckers are awesome for rock, clean, and more. The nice old-school Alnico II of the neck pickup sounds just like it should for jazz or blues or that simple sweet lead. The Alnico V of the bridge pickup (Hot Alnico) is searing enough that if you dig into the strings, the growl and crunch jump out at you. MUCH sweeter than ceramic-magnet bridge pickups. Mine are nicely matched for the middle switch position.
Features
It's an antique-white Custom Les Paul. Dig? It DOES NOT come with coil splitting or the little toggle switch. It came ONLY with the standard four-knob configuration with VVTT only. No push-pulls. The cavity has the PCB Gibson harness and is not hand-soldered point-to-point. The binding is old-school white and perfect! The rosewood is dark and lovely. Feels and sounds MUCH Better than my 2013 black LE LP Custom Lite.
Ease of Use
VVTT and that great 50s neck. Easy.
Quality
I have no complaints at all about the guitar or its build. It's flawless.
Value
This guitar is about $400 more than my four-year-old LP Lite. I like this one much better: worth the difference!
Manufacturer Support
When I have contacted Gibson, they've ALWAYS been VERY helpful.
The Wow Factor
People look at this one (from the front) like it's a big-body LP custom. Nice!

"Truly Lite"

I just got this guitar, a "blem" model. Can't really find the blem. Build quality and finish are first rate. This guitar is lighter than one of my SGs (and about as light as the others). Lighter than most strats. I've set it up with higher action and more relief, and low action and almost zero relief. So far, so good with slide or regular setups. I think they do a good job with their PLEK machines now. Go Gibby! Also, no neck dive with my leather strap. Now, that's the thing that may (ironically) disappoint some of you who read the specs. No neck dive because no 50s neck. I know, it's supposed to be "50s round". Yet I have that neck on my Nighthawk and my black SG. This LP Lite neck is barely thicker than my 60s necks. It just doesn't have the "dip" under the upper frets like the Slim 60s. Other than that, it's very close to being as thin as a 60s neck. The plastic inlays don't match the MOP split diamond. I may spend some Stew Mac bux and add MOP inlays. At this price why not, eh? Overall, a very nice execution at a fair price. An LP that won't break your back. Get 'em while they last.

"After 8 months, my Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom Lite is still amazing!"

I've always wanted a classic white Gibson Les Paul Custom and until I discovered this one on zZounds, I thought it would be a dream too far out of reach. Now, it's a dream come true for me! I waiting 8 months before reviewing so that the emotions wouldn't bias my opinion of the guitar. Here's what I can say: It has a rounded 50's neck that, while thick, is comfortable to play and I have small hands being 5'7". The 490R/498T pups have a little heavy bass response on the low strings, but otherwise they give that classic Les Paul sound. They are very sensitive to the pick pressure and catch even the most subtle nuances. The maple cap and mahogany body contribute to that classic Les Paul sound too - even being half as thick as a regular Custom. Being a "Lite" it's very comfortable and works well with my 5'7" frame. The gold hardware holds up to play and hasn't shown any tarnish. The tuners are ok - they feel like they have a little slip to them and I'm thinking of replacing them. Tuning the G, B and high E can sometimes require more work than I want. I still haven't had it "set up" yet and there's some fret buzz on the B string that is annoying. I play this guitar through a Mesa Transatlantic TA-15 amp with a Mesa 1x12 open back cab and it sounds amazing. I mostly play covers with it: Pearl Jam, U2, Zepplin, Rush, Stones, Kings of Leon, etc. and it covers them all very, very well tone-wise. Overall, it's not perfect, but it's pretty darn close to it. I do not regret my purchase. I love this guitar. It has classic Gibson Les Paul sound and features and the LP Custom "Wow!" factor. If you're looking for a LP Custom at a lower price point, this in't a bad option. If you're a purist, you may not like it's thinner body. But if you want function over form, it's a very good alternative especially if you're playing 2-3 hours a gig.

This is The Best Guitar I have ever played. For whatever reason Gibson has cut the price in half because of the slim body? Good for us! This thing sounds amazing and was ready to go out of the box. I am pleasently surprised how well this guitar sounds and feels, the fit and finish is amazing , plus this one is unique in that there are 2vol and 2 tone knobs with the diamond split inlay. This thing is the best secret out there, get it while you can, theyre limited in number.

I couldn't be happier. Perfect size...perfect weight...perfect feel and plays like butter with my all time favorite set of pickups...the 490R and 498T. I'm very pleased for what Gibson did with this one since I always wanted a Custom in some antique/classic white but couldn't afford the cost. Now the zZounds flexible payment plan options is a plus!!!

1) Gibson Les Paul Custom Lite: Needs fret work , frets out from 9th to 14th fret on low e2) got a replacement, same exact issue.........3) ordered a Limited Edition Explorer..guitar is never playable, neck is warped and truss rod only tightens and makes it warped worse. Tech said guitar will never be playable
