If I was given this as a gift, I would sell it and buy several better guitars at far lower prices. Shame on you Gibson, for trying to mooch people out of their money.
Sound
It sounds like every other Les Paul, but with a higher price tag.
Features
The finish is nice and the pickups aren't bad, but it's extremely pricey. I would pay maybe $1,000 if I had the cash.
Ease of Use
Standard Les Paul setup. If you can't figure it out, put the guitar down and go find a triangle.
Quality
Standard Les Paul. Decent production, probably road-worthy. I wouldn't worry about it breaking unless you have a habit of smashing your guitars on concrete after every show.
Value
Extremely pricey for just another Les Paul. That's the thing I hate most about Gibson, they're clinging to a name rather than trying to innovate and they release dozens(literally) of types of Les Pauls ranging in price from fairly low to absurdly high despite the fact that they all sound mostly the same.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't dealt with Gibson, but I imagine their customer support is fine.
The Wow Factor
It looks fine. Bring it to a local show and you'll likely get lots of "ooohs" and "nice guitar" 's. If that's all you want to buy a guitar for(i.e. the name, and the way it looks) then by all means go off and be shallow.
