Gibson 2019 ES-339 Satin Semi-Hollowbody Electric Guitar (with Case)
With the 339, Gibson shrinks the body of a 335 for a more comfortable playing experience. Its pair of MHS II humbuckers produces an organic, vintage sound.

This is my first Gibson, and it will not be my last. Overall: This thing sounds killer in whatever situation I run it through, the satin black finish looks sleek as hell, and it plays like a dream. This guitar really is a fine example of a comeback from Gibson's recent years of production. I would buy another one if something happened to this one.
Sound
This thing is so versatile. I found myself playing clean jazzy chords and indulging in the classic bluesy side of the instrument, but then I cranked the gain and it still held up playing hard rock and metal, just as a les paul would. The bridge pickup is HOT. Really can be used for any genre.
Quality
It came set up, right out of the box. Action was so low and fast. No buzzing. Truly an amazing set up.
Value
I find that you get what you pay for with music equipment. This is my first venture into Gibson as a brand, and I can safely say that I understand why people still buy Gibson's after all these years. This feels like an expensive guitar, and as soon as you pick it up, you understand why it is NO cheap guitar.
The Wow Factor
This satin black finish looks simply killer. The binding complements it stunningly. This guitar wouldn't look out of place anywhere, from a sweaty punk show to a Tuxedo clad party. Really awesome.

"Third bought in three years. This one is missing identification parts in two places."

I purchased a 2015 ES 339 new in 2017 that could not hold it's tune. I sold it at a loss to purchase a later dated one that also did not hold its tune. I also sold it at a loss. I recently purchased a 2019 ES 339 that had been greatly improved and it promoted the notion that it had an assurance of good tuning due to three improvements, and it did indeed. My concern, however, is that it does not have the identification oval paper inside the guitar to identify it, as all Gibsons have, nor did it have the "Memphis" identity at the top of the neck before the tuning keys as my other two had. So I am perfectly satisfied with the performance and the fact that it holds it's tune. But in the absence of the identifying information, which was always included inside Gibson Guitars, I am concerned that perhaps this guitar was made in a place other than the USA? I lost over $1000 or more in reselling the first two ES 339's. I don't want to face a loss on this guitar if indeed it was made in a factory overseas or basically not in Memphis as I had contemplated. In 61 years of-purchasing only Gibson's, I have never had identifying info missing. Thus the cause for suspicion.
