Gibson EDS1275 Double Neck Electric Guitar (with Case)

Take the stage like Jimmy Page with this Doubleneck Guitar, used most famously on "Stairway to Heaven." It features both a 12-string neck and a 6-string neck.

Gibson EDS-1275 Customer Review

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
It has every thing that I could ever want in a guitar.
Sound
It really brings out that gibson sound that most people love. All the equipment i use is just a cable and any kind of marshall amp.
Features
The double neck feature helps because it allows you to play many songs on one guitar that normally you need to own multiple guitars for.
Quality
No errors with the making. And as with all gibson guitars it is made with high quality.
Value
It is easily worth the price
Manufacturer Support
I have had no need to contact gibson about their product. But i do know that they are easy to reach. I have found no need what-so-ever to upgrade this guitar so i have not tried.
The Wow Factor
Every one i know loves this guitar. Whenever i have this guitar they beg me to be able to play it. They worship it like a god.

Musical Background:

Not quite proffesional but plays guitar all the time

"Gibson EDS 1275 Review"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'd probably replace it. Have owned it since the mid-'70s
Sound
Because of all the mahogany coupled with the maple necks, the clean sound is crystalline and "crunch" is great - really "chugs" through a Marshall half stack with the 6 string neck and excellent sustain. I've had 3 different doublenecks. This by far is the best sounding.
Features
The choice of tonewoods is excellent as noted. Gives a 6/12 player great versatility on stage without having to swap instruments. Simple, effective controls. Unlike one of my other doublenecks built by a company whose name contains 6 letters and begins with "C", both necks sound great. The "C" 6 string neck is totally worthless for sound, 12 string neck is pretty good.
Ease of Use
Getting great sounds is easy. Necks are very playable and comfortable although limited by the number of accessible frets. Rick 360/12 owners will appreciate the 12 string neck width! Notwithstanding the foregoing favorable comments, this has to be the most poorly-balanced doubleneck of all time. Extremely neck heavy. I attached a belt hook to the strap on the body end. The "C" doubleneck mentioned earlier was perfectly balanced so it CAN be done. Gibson just didn't do it.
Quality
This instrument is actually a factory second with a flawed joint attaching the top mahogany wing to the rest of the body which also imparted a small cosmetic irregularity. It eventually got loose and I had to have some glue injected. Didn't impact the sound any and it was lots cheaper.
Value
This one was. New ones are way overpriced like all Gibson instruments.
Manufacturer Support
I've never had to deal with Gibson but have heard it's a nightmare.
The Wow Factor
Stage versatility, great sound.
