for being a Gibson I had hi standards of how it should play . my other guitar was ok but this guitar was perfect sweet action and is much lighter than my other guitar the frets play very good . you really can tell that Gibson is on a another level ... the only thing I didn't like was the gig bag I feel it should be a hard case .

Up until now I've never owned a high end guitar, but this is the best choice for anyone looking for their first Gibson. The guitar is spectacular it surpassed my expectations the first five minutes I had it. Also the free two day shipping made the purchase a breeze I place my order and I had a badass guitar in my hands that week. Without zZounds I don't know when I'd ever be able to get an amazing guitar, because their payment plans make purchasing really easy. I hear people gripe a bit about some of the newer Gibsons (rightfully on some, there was a point where the US instruments were of a lower quality build) but this instrument is quite nice. It seems the newer Gibsons are more along the lines of lighter instruments, which may have to do with demand, but either way I don't mind the shift from heavier bulkier ones. This one is a set neck, which is less to my liking than neck thru, but it's a longer heel so I can forgive it. The factory setup was mediocre, but after I installed NYXLs and set the action to my liking the sustain and harmonics were fantastic. I still plan to swap the bridge pickup, but as far as what the guitar has to offer out of the box, it's fantastic. No complaints. Keep in mind the newer V's from gibson have shorter V wings than the older ones when buying this.

Pickups are amazing in clean as well as overdrive! Lightweight and won't tire you out like lp will.
