"Great guitar, and a steal at 1299"

I bought the Ebony, both for its lower price and simply because I prefer it to the other finish. This is a very fast-playing guitar, due to the very slim neck. This also improves your effective reach. That's a big deal for me. The Moderne requires only a very light touch, and is faster in this respect that either my Les Paul Flood or my Firebird X. This guitar itself is very light, especially compared to the Les Paul.
Sound
This guitar is very responsive to the touch. The sound is very good, and the sustain is comparable to my Les Paul.
Features
The overall quality is excellent, as expected from Gibson.
Value
At $1299, the Ebony is a great deal. I guess people have strong reactions one way or the other to its looks. I like it, and if other people don't and that prompted zZounds & Gibson to lower prices, I think that's fantastic.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't had to contact Gibson about this product.
The Wow Factor
I like the looks. You won't see many of these around, which is cool.
