The 3play is great! I've got it mounted on a 1994 Parker Fly Deluxe hardtail and it appears like it was meant for this guitar! I use it with Logic Pro X and it tracks flawlessly. Highly recommended!!!

"Good controller with limitations"

Loving the possibilities. I'm putting together a new live show and this will be a part of it. I've already written a new piece of music with it.
Sound
This controller just works. It has some expected lag in response time which I was prepared for. You won't be playing piano parts. However, once you have attuned yourself to what it can't do and start using it like a pedal you can start layering delicious sounds to back up your playing. I have only used this with UVI Falcon so far with pads. Finding a nice arpeggiated pad to fill in the background while you play on top is great.
Features
The application that comes with it (you have to download it first, natch) is not very pretty, but it does what you need it to. The sounds that come with it are not really very suitable for this product IMO. For me, that was not an issue since I own a number of softsynths and sample libraries to pick and choose from.
Ease of Use
This was a piece of cake to set up and use on my Frankenstein Strat. Installed in about 15 minutes. I ordered some extra mounting do-dads so I can use it on my other guitars. Since I already had plenty of softsynths installed and ready, it was simply a matter of fine-tuning the pickup height and saddle height to get every string in close proximity to the pickup. I was playing in less than an hour.
Quality
It seems well built, but time will tell.
Value
Definitely worth the price IMO. The ability to quickly move it between different guitars is superb. The only potential issue for me is the USB receiver, which someone could easily swipe at a show.
Manufacturer Support
I have already dealt with Fishman support, which was outstanding.
The Wow Factor
It's not very wow. It has a very low profile. This is a silly question IMO.

"Killer Product, **Buyer Beware...."

Fishman is a dependable, world-class leader in musical equipment and tones, especially for guitarists. Unfortunately, they were careless with this product's description. ** IT WILL NOT FIT "ANY ELECTRIC GUITAR" as It states. Many "Tele" styles, including my favorite, Leo's last stroke of brilliance, G&L's "Blues Boy" have a steel box around the bridge that extends past the first pickup. The Triple Play PU will not reach past this, if you're only guitar has this feature and you're psyched for 3Play to arrive, it's an unpleasant surprise. Surely by now Fishman's had enough buyers reporting this to modify the "Fit's All" line in the description. The fact that you're playing MIDI, your guitars tone doesn't matter, still most guitarists, especially pros on a serious project prefer having their Baby in hand. Thankfully, I had other electrics and could dive in to the wondrous world of Triple Play. This is a MONSTER product for recording with guitars. Performing live with it is challenging, however, I haven't had the need for that so I can't say anything more about that aspect. I can say Triple Play eliminates the need to play a MIDI keyboard for the sounds you need. Now you can explore your imagination with your guitar like never before with this musical masterpiece. Unleash your creativity with this amazing, motivating unit and compose, produce and release what you have to say, in a language all with ears that hear can will understand.

"Awesome!!"

My review is strictly coming from using this product as a stand alone unit foregoing the internal software etc... Along with this I purchased a Kenton USB to Midi converter ($99) to accommodate that desired set up. Installation of the pick up is a breeze and syncing it to the usb stick once plugged into the Kenton is without issue. I use different software based bass guitar synths and the tracking is spot on. Even shredding as fast as I cleanly can to try and test it's ability to handle that many notes was pulled off perfectly. I also use a Roland Fantom XR and the Fishman works perfectly with that too. I've used the other guitar midi pickup products out there and the Fishman is in another league. Get it...you wont be sorry.

"Products great potential/buggy software install"

I've had my TP a month now and still have not been able to use its full potential. After a very long initial software download and install process it never did install properly. It crashed my PC numerous times. Half the problem could be my PC however. I received quick response from Fishman support. And they tried reinstalling remotely. Taking over my PC, they still were unable to properly install. I am keeping it however and will use it with IOS and my hardware synth after Fishman releases their TriplePlay FC1 foot controller, which is designed to hookup to 5pin midi hardware.

"Great Idea, but...."

I have been using a Roland GI-20 with the 13pin cable for a number of years. I purchased this with the hopes of not needing to constantly replace the cable (they are not too "road worthy"). Setup was easy enough, though I had to make some surgical modifications to the pick-up mount to get an appropriate height for an LP bridge. I ended up stacking 2 of the provided spacers. Once mounted, and height adjusted with the fine tuning screw, the adhesive for the spacers did not keep the outer edges attached due to the curvature of the guitar's surface. (Demerit #1). The mounting bracket for the unit should be shipped with replacement screws for the strap button to accommodate the loss of penetration into the body created by the addition of the bracket. I now worry a bit if the strap button will stay put (Demerit #2). Playability: There is significant lag/delay using their plug-in and interface. However, going direct into your DAW and using the unit as a standard controller, the delay is workable. Tracking is OK... (Tracking is much better using my GI-20 due to the many adjustments that can be made on the unit for sensitivity, modes, etc). Manual/documentation: A bit sparse. It's not all in one place. I still can't find where the range distance of the unit's broadcasting ability is stated... Kind of important for a wireless unit, right? Overall: Usable? Yes... But just barely. Good for the studio, but then why do I need a wireless unit for the studio?
