"Very High Quality Board but there are some caveats"

I bought the 1520 bundle. So first the good. Very sturdy board with plenty of space to arrange your pedals and it's a smart design. It sits in between slanted rail pedalboards and flat boards with risers. I have both. I don't like rail boards because some smaller pedals don't have enough area to get a good mount and they wobble all the time, and some pedals like Boss DD series with the slanted front are a little hard to engage higher on the board. I don't like boards with risers because the risers are so high (I'm old ok?), and a lot of your cabling is exposed, there's no place to hide your mess if you build boards like I do. This is the perfect height for me. There is plenty of access to route and hide cables properly and not a lot of cabling needs to be exposed. The bundle is not perfect though. See below.

Features
There are a few things people should know about the bundle. Most of the videos about these boards are from the original release and things have changed since then. First, there is no longer a gig bag included, nor are there any velcro or cable management included. These boards were introduced in the late 2010's and back then the bundle included the case, velcro, cable ties yada yada. When they reintroduced them a couple of years ago they only include the board, power supply, and the I/O buffer box. I should have investigated this further so it's partly my own fault, but I was very disappointed to have to go spend more money on an aftermarket bag. Friedman recommends the Mono Tour 2.0 bag, but I found the Gator G-MIXERBAG-2118 works and it's half the price of the Mono bag. Another thing to note is that the PSU does not have variable voltage. All outputs are 350 MA and 9VDC, and there's no USB either. It's kind of a dated PSU and for the money they could do better. The buffer box is nice though and I like that you can recess it to protect your cables.

Quality
Like all Friedman products, it's built like a tank. A little heavy, but sturdy! When AI takes over and the robot swarms are out hunting us this should provide adequate shielding from a full frontal attack, and could be a weapon if needed.
Value
I struggle with this. It's a lot of money and yes you can get something that does the same thing for a lot less, but even without the case you add up the cost of a good board, 10 port PSU and a buffered I/O box it's in the same ballpark as other boutique board builders, so I'd say it's competitive in the arena it plays in.
Manufacturer Support
I have owned many Friedman products and Dave himself has answered some of my emails to support. They are a great company to deal with.
The Wow Factor
It's a very sharp looking board with some nice design features and is built like it will last a lifetime.
