This amp is a sleeper! I have gigged on bass for over 30 years and played through almost everything. I just want clean headroom and the tools to express my instrument’s tone. I own GK and Genz heads, plus a Peavey MiniMax (that is way better than it should be for the price!), plus multiple GK and Hartke cabs. To be candid, I wanted a combo amp because I bought a new vehicle and am trying to downsize. I picked the Rumble Stage 800 for the flexibility of having a 400 watt stage monitor on it’s own, PLUS the ability to drive a 4 ohm extension load. HELLO...This is a modeling amp and the presets are great sounds for the living room or studio. The cabinet modeling is cool, but I’ve found it unusable in live settings and switched it “off” in all of my saved settings. The amp sounds better on it’s own as a very efficient 2x10” than it does when it tries to act like an 8x10”. (The Goliath 4x10” model does stand out though.)The amp models are a mixed bag. Not surprising that the Fender and SWR amps are all spot-on, with a little tweaking. The GK 800RB model is excellent, with the good sauce all over that Boost control, just like the real deal. I’m not inclined to use the Ampeg or the “British” flavored presets. I have found the generic clean preamp and tube preamps are the best for opening the amp up in a gig setting. Those feel the most “real” to me, like the amp’s natural voice without all of the digitalis going on. I gig with either MiJ Precision or MiA Jazz, both sound fantastic through this amp. There are a bunch of effects, and options for placement in your signal chain. Most of it is cool, fun stuff, however not much that I will ever use on a gig. I particularly love the Sine Chorus, Envelope and Modern Bass OD. There is a Shimmer Reverb effect that is only available within the preamp-only amp models - VERY cool! The foot switch is included, built like a truck, switches between presets, individual effects on/off, and controls the built-in looper. There is also a pile of other features and benefits like WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, app control, etc. This amp is exceptionally deep and versatile, a huge palette of models, emulations and effects that can output to a studio DAW via USB in a living room. Or run it clean and drive a couple of 8ohm 4x10” cabinets when your band rocks the amphitheater. I took a 1x12” extension cab along for a couple of gigs but quickly realized I don’t need it. It has carried a few larger rooms without PA support, and the DI outputs have sounded great when I have used them. It seems to be well made, it is deceptively lightweight (

I'll keep it short and sweet. It's super light, super loud, and packs a ton of customizable effects. There is nothing else out that that compares for the price. The perfect bass rig for any working cover band bassist. Whatever tone you are after, it's there and really clear and punchy.

unless you are on tour with Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, or Metalica I can't imagine you needing much more than this combo offers. I have many basses, and i am able to capture the individual characteristics of each easily. I owned, and still own a Rumble 500 V3 and love that also. The technical advancements, and improvements are the reason I purchased it. I saw a future in updateable firmware, downloadable presets, WiFi capabilities, and USB capabilities. I am about a little over my third month with the Stage 800, and I haven't even started with the foot pedal, set list programming and looping. All we really wanna know is what does it sound like? It sounds like just about everything I've ever heard and that is good. Forget the name, or intended preset, the question is does it sound good? It sounds fantastic. In addition it is light and plenty loud, but can played silently while you practice through your earphones, as you're learning music streaming through your Bluetooth connection. The foot switch is included with the Stage 800, and you have the Fender Tone App you can download on your phone and adjust the tone from across the room, and download new presets created by other users. It is the future coming together with Fender and i love it!

I’ve been playing bass professionally since the 70s. I’m a SVT guy. I play a 5 string, mostly Music Man. I switched to the SVT half stack in 2012. Tried my first small combo amp, a TLC in 2016. Not bad but not enough power. Tried the Rumble 500, much better but I needed an ext cabinet for bigger gigs and wound up blowing one speaker in each cabinet. Then This Rumble 800 Stage came out. I tried it out in the store and was very impressed but a store is not live venue or outside gig. I got it and purchased a better warranty. My first gig was my once a week outside gig in downtown Miami, on the water with bouts passing and other clubs and restaurants playing loud music. This amp easily cut through with clarity and bottom punch. After a year and a half, not one problem. I use the very first preset, which is a Fender Bassman model, for a basic setting and tweak the highs and lows from my bass. I use 3 of the chorus presets when needed and the Moog Bass preset on a couple of songs. I also use the Flanger on one song. The built in tuner is very accurate, in fact, I tuned with my Boss Pedal then used the Rumble tuner showed a difference of 3 to 5 points sharp or flat on 3 strings. In my opinion this is the best light weight combo amp on the market. Most smaller amps bottom out the low B on a 5 string but the Rumble 800 makes it sing, clearly and with bottom or the piano sound. No distortion. I can’t say enough good stuff about this amp. Every sound man I’ve had from small venues to large theaters and auditoriums has asked me about this amp and complimented the sound and how easy it is to mix. I have played with guitar players with Marshall stacks who think the guitar should be louder than anything on stage and I had no problem putting that bass up their a&@. I played a Prince tribute and was able to capture the different sounds and effects on his songs. I LOVE THIS AMP
