So, I'm old. My mental picture of a 'practice' amp is my 40 year old Pignose amp that takes batteries, and I could take with me. The Mustang Micro is an entirely different thing. It's tiny, it's rechargeable, works with any headphones with a 1/8" jack, models 12 different amps, 12 different effects, and has Bluetooth to pair with your phone or computer. Using Bluetooth, you can play jam tracks or songs via your music player, or YouTube, and also hear your guitar, so you can jam along with them. It's a revolution in portable practice amps. It also charges via USB-C, and you can also use it as an input for recording to your laptop. It's the best, lightest, most versatile practice device I've ever owned. Is it perfect? I mean, it won't sound quite as good as your tube amp played super loud, but for practice, it's pretty tough to beat...

I just got this and it’s great. The convenience of just picking up the guitar and playing anytime is worth it alone, but the Bluetooth ability to add backing tracks or YouTube lessons is really nice. The sounds are very good, as good as my Boss GT-1 with headphones. The effects, although limited, cover pretty much everything I need. I guess an auto wah to cover some Jerry Garcia is asking a bit too much. Overall, Fender nailed it with this one and zZounds shipped it really quickly too.

"I've gone to Guitar HEAVEN!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Amazing. Incredible. Fantastic. Superb. I could go on and on here over this thing but let me just say this: GET ONE!I have played guitar for 58 years now, there have been times when my six string slept in it's case for, oh, embarrassed to say, years at a time. I've had over 20, from the best, to the $50 Jackson I picked up at the pawn shop. (it plays like a much higher priced guitar I must say) Not to mention, I just grabbed a guitar that comes from George Fullerton's private collection! It will not be allowed to sleep... now that I've got this Mustang MICRO! This thing is AMAZING! I can go back in time with it! I can play with the sound of the amp I had in 1964, or in the 70's, or 80's or 90's or... you get it. The level of customization with all of the amps and effects is beyond compare.I pair it to my phone, and I can play along with anyone I want to with the Bluetooth connection, or, record my own track, Bluetooth it from the phone, and work on my non existent shred ability LOL!Seriously, this is probably the most amazing electronic tool I have ever discovered and if you play, you just gotta have one!
Sound
It sounds AMAZING right out of the box!
Features
Ton's of customizable features, both on the amps and the effects.
Ease of Use
Very easy, may take a while to remember what color goes with what item... I just go by how it sounds.
Quality
I've owned it for a full 72 hours now and it's holding up just fine...lol
Value
I have nothing else to compare it to.
Manufacturer Support
YES! I am a huge fan of both Leo Fender and George Fullerton, in fact, I just got a guitar from George Fullerton's private collection! 1995 G&L George Fullerton Signature USA Legacy "strat". Hand signed by George on the back of the headstock. That, along with this Amp = GUITAR HEAVEN.
The Wow Factor
You WANT IT! Especially if you live in a place where too much noise can get you into trouble! I am rocking out with this thing and my headphones... like being at USBANK Stadium in the Twin Cities! I think it would be impossible to ever regret the purchase of this!

"Fender Mustang Micro is Quiet"

The Fender Mustang Micro is Quiet and has a type C connection. If this is ran thru a non-power audio interface e.g. (No AC plug in). The clarity of the effects are a nice blend, clean, delay, etc...I found this very useful for recording and practice. Down-side price.

The days of horrible headphone amps are a thing of the past when it comes to the Fender micro. The variety and quality of the tones is incredible. Turn on bluetooth and you can jam along or practice with your favorite songs/backing tracks.

First off the vox classic rock and metal amplugs cannot be best!!that said the clean tones on this micro are good, high gain tones are muddy.bluetooth is great but bought because thought was also capable of wireless headphones, which they should've went the extra mile for us but didn't do we have to use wired like every other amplugs.plus no tweeking of gain just factory presets.and for the life of me can't understand why they didn't include a marshall jcm 800 amp, which is the most popular on the full size fender mustang amps.i will stick with my vox classic rock and metal amplugs, which rule!!!

"Almost there Fender"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I Just bought this amp last week. I believe this little amp is good but not as good sounding as the Vox amplug2 classic rock. The good news about the Fender amp is that it is rechargeable...can I get a hallelujah. It's also very portable (but so is the Vox) and the Bluetooth capability would make anyone give this a much higher rating than I did on the web site I purchased it from. Now the bad news...You have twelve amps to choose from (which is nice) but on any of the amp settings there is NO gain control, so your stuck with whatever amp you pick and then cannot adjust it to your taste. You do however, have an EQ button but this feature mostly just changes the tone (still no real control). Also, you cannot choose just one effect or add any more to the amp or even adjust the parameters of the effects. The effects are hardwired into the device. The modify button does a poor job at adjusting any of the effects you choose... and still... there is NO real control over the effects on an independent level. Another negative feature is that it's plastic so IMO, and I never say this because I believe these are rip offs...GET THE WARRANTY. If they are anything like the Vox Amplug2 series they will break with everyday use in 3-6 months at the jack the weakest point. I have purchased at least 20 of the amplug2 amps (a couple still work) over the last 12 years and the Mustang Micro Mini, is every bit as fragile as any of the other handheld amps.In conclusion, and IMO, it's not a bad little unit. It just needs better features and more control over the amps and effects. One last point I would like to make, and that is that IMO, this device is way overpriced and should not be more than $49.99 at the max. Even so, I will most likely keep it for the bluetooth feature and the rechargeable feature. Keep trying Fender you are 50% there. Peace.

"Things I'd like Fender to add to the next version..."

I'm very pleased with the Micro overall. Read my review below. It really is great. If I were to suggest any changes to the Mustang Micro, it would be this: 1. Include some earbuds with the amp...I mean, why not? You can buy decent earbuds for ten bucks these days...probably cost Fender fifty cents and would mean ready to go out of the box. 2. In the new model, set it up to have a bluetooth output for using wireless headphones. While not a huge deal, I'd really rather not have that wire running from the headset to the guitar. I always end up fumbling with it when taking the guitar off or putting it on. 3. Go ahead and print the basic amp settings on the Micro. The reference card works. But, just having the amp models printed on the amp itself would be handy. There is enough blank space on the Micro to accommodate this. These are just my ideas for improvements. The amp is already a great sounding and super handy device.

"The best sounding of the headphone amps"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Really love this. I've tried a few headphone amps that all had that sort of "toy" sound to them...like overdriven amp on a chip. This Mustang Micro is by far the best sounding. I mean, it really sounds like the amps it is modeling...good enough to use on a finished recording. I built a small body travel guitar that fits in a small shotgun case. In that case, I can fit the guitar, a cable (just in case), the Micro with chargers and interface cable, and some extra strings and picks, and a set of earbuds. It's very cool to have a complete practice setup that fits in an 8x36 inch package. I don't miss toting around my small practice amps at all. And, this setup is ideal for rocking out in the hotel room at 4AM. You might balk at the idea of only a few parameters compared to some with infinite dials. But believe me, having fewer choices that all sound great, works perfectly...and gets me practicing instead of fiddling with controls. Oh, and the Micro works great as a mini interface in case I want to record into my laptop. I don't use the onboard models for that, just the plain interface into Amplitube. That's just so I can change sounds in post. But, the sound of the Micro is really good enough to just pick a sound and start recording. Unless you need a ton of extra controls, the Mustang Micro is a great little amp. BTW...I've also used it plugged into a plain powered speaker...works great in a pinch for an instant live amp.
