"Fender Frontman 10G: Great Buy"

I own some larger Fender and Line 6 amps but bought this one for a friend's retirement gift to go with his midi Fender Strat. I tried out the amp, it was great! The tone was Fender clear and it had plenty of volume for self-practice and maybe even a band practice if you have electric drums and a band that can avoid volume creep (unlikely). I always run amp as a clean channel as all my effects are on a stomp board. I ran the GR55 through it, sounded great. Tried the built in distortion, sounded OK but I never use the built in functions. Even though I have 2 amps already, this one is so light and portable, I am thinking of buying another for myself to allow me to quickly carry it from room to room as I'm chased by family needing to study or play harp. Great amp.

"Great starter amp!"

Sound
Very good amp for a student.
Features
This comment is not so much of a knock on the amp as much as it is a note that when using your treble and bass tuners, you have to get used to the fact that your guitar may sound out of tune. It took my son a bit to make the adjustments.

"Not your average guitarist"

I will continue to use this until it dies.
Sound
Ok, first things. I don't play guitars of any kind. I purchased this for use in my Phys Ed class. I use a mic receiver and an iPod. I have a huge gym and never have needed this over 7 or 8 for the kids to hear me talk. Probably could for a practice studio, but not on stage.
Features
Did not come with an audio input cord.
Ease of Use
Plug in and go.
Quality
Superb
Value
