I've been playing professionally for over 40 years. I had the mustang 2, version two for eleven years. I have played as big of venues as you could ask to play.........this gtx is a new beast to me.......I find the celestion is a great feature added to this style of amp......the secret to getting a great sound out of this amp is the speaker emulation and the compression/ sustain......I can dial in the best country twang, and hit the stomp and have a wonderful plexi type distortion....another secret.......forget the presets, they will distract you from what you can achieve.....this amp has a lot more low end than what you would expect, using the new, I would roll off 80 hertz to tighten it up.,....after pushing a few button, I could care less about the tone app.........all in all, this is a very capable and usable amp.......if this amp last me as long as the other mustang I had, it will be a good amp

This is a very robust and feature rich amp. I’ve owned so many amps over the years and I just use modeling for recording and jamming. I got rid of my last tube amp last weekend because it was just too loud for my needs these days. Found an open box deal here and got a fantastic price. One little blemish in the tolex that a tiny drop of black nail polish will fix in seconds was the only issue. Big whoop. I downloaded the fender tone app on my iPad and had a fantastic twin reverb sound in minutes. You can overwrite the presets and I suggest you at least tweak them. They are all brittle and sterile. The secret sauce is creating your own. The foot switch is very usable and convenient. Watch a few YouTube videos and you’ll see that some thought went into the development. It makes the price difference between the 50 and the 100 a no brainer. A little extra power never hurt. I’d gig with this in a heartbeat. My main modeler is a boss gt1000, but this little guy is going to make an appearance or two soon. If you’re not the least bit tech savvy, I’ll be honest, this isn’t for you but if you have basic tech proficiency, you can handle it. I love the versatility of being able to go warm edge of breakup to a screaming lead patch to an etherial JC patch with the tap of my foot. Fender really has something special here. I bought an LT25 a while ago and made a few little patches for just jamming to and I really enjoy that little amp. The GTX 100 takes that functionality and kicks it into high gear with more blocks, the app and the ability to use it as an interface into a DAW. Digital modeling has come so far since the 90s and the days of the first modeling amps. Years of the cheap stigma following amp modeling will fade away if you’ll give this amp a shot. This bears repeating. Overwrite the presets and dial in the blocks just like you’d dial in your amp and pedals. The presets are intended to give you an idea of what this amp can do.
Sound
The Celestion speaker sounds great with the open back cab. There is plenty of breathing room and it doesn’t sound choked out like other inexpensive modeling amps.
Features
The tone app makes short work of editing and creating patches. The little screen on the amp is bot great especially if your amp sits on a shelf. This amp is super lightweight has plenty of io options with an effects loop on board. It may be a modeling amp and look a little pricey as such compared to the LT models but the upgraded speaker and cab really make a huuuuge difference. I owned a LT50 a few years ago and currently have a LT25. This is in a different league.
Ease of Use
Super simple. The app on an iPad or tablet connected with Bluetooth and you’re in business. If you can handle an iPad you can handle this amp. This is so much easier than using a modeler. If you know how to dial in an amp with knobs and adjust your pedals, this is a no brainer.
Quality
Seems solid. Well built cabinet and the knobs feel good. I only use the volume knob as my patches are already dialed in from my ipad.
Value
That it is and more.
Manufacturer Support
I’ve had to reach out to Fender in the past and they were great.
The Wow Factor
This is a super versatile amp with enough power to gig a small club, tons of very usable tones to record direct into a daw with a micro usb cable that’s not included, and a great amp for someone getting back into music and they need an amp to handle anything from an AC30 to a dual rectifier and everything in between.

Having owned both generations of the Katana 100 mk/mk2, as well as the Marshall modeling amps, this one is spot on. The sounds are great, the ease of use of the app is almost too easy. Every amp and cab you could ask for. Classic Fender amps are spot on. Only negative which isn't bad at all is the knobs have a cheap feel too them...It isn't going to blow you away out of the box if you have watched even one video on it. It is exactly what it should be. An awesome sounding amp with just about everything you need built in.

Just received mine the other day and I think it's a great little amp. It has tons of presets in it and I like the way you can control things from your phone too. Very light weight , great construction. Plus you can make your own presets too and you can share your own presets with Fender connect and download other musicians presets.

I thought I would go digital and try this amp. So far so good. The Wi-Fi isn’t working though. Hooked up to the app no problem. A lot of sound I can use and a lot I won’t use. The effects are nice and having full control of them is really nice. Just wish the Wi-Fi worked will make future updates a problem.

Good for many styles of playing. Bluetooth and wifi are pretty cool. 190 presets will keep you busy. The app is very easy to navigate and plenty of settings to download. Overall great classic Fender tones and a few overdrive settings that are Marshall like.

I play to sound good get paid and get invited back again, this plaything will leave You looking like an idiot on stage. Its a cool little toy for the bedroom, but it is highly overpriced even with the footswitch included. please dont waste Your money. Katanas are cheaper and ten times better sounding than pos. I bought mine at the brick and mortar store in town and when the display went out they were usless at helping Me,utterly. stick with zZounds people

The two plugs are worthless. You can’t turn up the amp without the music getting louder. Terrible product. When you pay for features you expect them to work. Piece of crap amp
